Corban Tabbed No. 15 in NAIA Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Top-25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA National office released the sixth regular-season edition of the 2015 NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top-25 Poll on Tuesday afternoon, listing the Corban University men's soccer team as the No. 15 team in the poll.

At No. 15 in the poll, it marks the sixth-straight week that the Warriors have been in the top-25 poll. That is the longest Corban has been in the top-25 ranking in program history. It also means Corban has been in the top-25 poll for the entirety of the regular-season polls to this point.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of 19 head coaches representing each of the conferences.

Corban, boasting a 14-2 overall record with a 9-2 mark in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) action is the second-highest rated team from the CCC, behind No. 8 Rocky Mountain College (15-1-1, 11-1-1 CCC). The Battlin' Bears clinched the CCC regular-season title last weekend with a win over Northwest while tying Evergreen. No team can catch Rocky Mountain in the regular-season standings, meaning the Battlin' Bears have earned the first automatic berth from the CCC to the NAIA National Championships.

The second automatic berth is given to the winner of the CCC Tournament, or if Rocky Mountain wins the CCC Tournament, then the team that finishes runner-up in the tournament will receive the second automatic berth. If a team does not receive either berths, then the at-large selections to the NAIA National Tournament are given to the top teams from the NAIA MRPI poll that did not already garner an automatic berth from their conference.

Corban travels north this week to take on Northwest University (9-7, 7-4 CCC) on Friday at 12 p.m., before then taking on The Evergreen State College (11-2-1, 8-2-1) on Saturday at 12 p.m. in the regular-season finale. These matches will be crucial in determining the seeding for the CCC Tournament. The top-eight teams in the CCC regular-season standings are seeded accordingly for the CCC Tournament, set to be played in Springfield, Ore., on November 11-14.
