KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Tuesday afternoon that the Corban University softball team had risen one spot in the NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll to No. 23. At No. 23, it is the highest the Warriors have been ranked all year long.
Corban boasts a 30-9 overall record on the season and hit the 30-win plateau for the first time since 2013 this past weekend when the Warriors racked up four wins, sweeping both Eastern Oregon University and The College of Idaho in the process. The Navy and Gold also hold a 13-4 record in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) play and are the third-highest rated team in the conference. Oregon Tech currently sits at No. 12 with a 30-9 mark, while Concordia is at No. 19 in the poll with a 31-11 record.
The Warriors are 8-1 when playing at home during the 2015 campaign, and they are 14-4 on the road and 8-4 when playing on a neutral field. Leading the way offensively at the plate is junior Jamie Costa (Tracy, Calif.) with a .444 batting average. She's also tallied seven homeruns and 29 RBI, while senior Kyrianna Sorensen (Salem, Ore.) has racked up a team-best 42 RBI and 10 homeruns.
