Corban softball head coach Jeff Covalt shared, "We're very proud of this group that did an incredible job over the school year in their ability to both manage softball and their academics, as their efforts off the field are worthy of recognition."
The CSC Academic All-America program is nominated and voted on by members of the CSC, which are the Sports Information Directors/Director of Athletic Communications from every NAIA institution. Each school's nominees must have met the following criteria to be eligible for the awards: at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically and have maintained at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA through their most recently completed semester. For collegiate softball specifically, student-athletes must have competed in at least 90% of all contests OR started in 66% of all games for the 2026 spring season, with pitchers also having the ability to qualify by tossing at least 35.0 innings or making 17 appearances in the circle.
The Navy and Gold were represented by a trio of senior student-athletes this past school year who achieved the requirements necessary to earn Academic All-District accolades, represented by pitchers Kate Banks, Amy Jankowski, and Vanesa Quinones. This is the first of such occasions for Jankowski to earn the academic/athletic honor, with Banks and Quinones each earning the distinction for a second and third consecutive year, respectively.
An NAIA-based selection committee consisting of members from the athletic communication departments across the country will now determine which of the All-District recipients will receive Academic All-American honors. Nominees will all be grouped together based on primary positions played across the diamond for the scholarly All-American status with both athletic and academic success taken into consideration.
