"Mckenna played outstandingly for us this season," explained Corban head coach Jeff Covalt. "She came into the season extremely focused, and it was clear right away that she had been putting in the extra work all offseason. We couldn't be prouder of her and the amazing student-athlete she has become."
Hanson had an incredible year at first base for the Navy and Gold, as she moved from behind the dish where she spent a majority of her freshman season to the team's everyday first baseman. She held the highest fielding percentage among the day-to-day starters for Covalt and his crew, committing only four errors across 278 chances and placing a metaphorical cherry on 11 double plays turned.
At the plate, Hanson was by far the most consistent bat in Covalt's lineup, as she led the team in batting average (.390), runs scored (14), OPS (1.002), hits (41), doubles (8), runs batted in (11), slugging percentage (.514), and on-base percentage (.488). In the Corban record book, Hanson's team-leading .488 on-base percentage is the eighth best in a single season by a Warrior. From a conferencewide perspective, Hanson was top ten across the CCC in batting average after reaching base safely via a base knock in nearly four of every ten at-bats.
