Warriors Rise to No. 15 in Latest NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top-25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the third regular-season softball coaches' top-25 poll on Tuesday, and the Corban University softball team rose to No. 15 overall. For the Warriors it is the highest the team has been ranked since 2013.

Corban is one of two teams from the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) in the NAIA Top-25, with Southern Oregon University coming in at No. 18. Additionally, Oregon Tech is currently receiving votes in the poll.

The Warriors are currently riding a 14-game winning streak and sit atop the CCC standings. Of all CCC teams, Corban boasts the best batting average (.355) and the best team ERA (1.89). The Warriors are also atop the list in slugging percentage (.509), on-base percentage (.414), runs scored (280), hits (408), RBI (246), doubles (94), total bases (530), and total wins (34), among others.

Corban is led offensively by Iris Rodriguez with a .429 batting average and 32 RBI, while Jessie Isham boasts a .420 batting average with 48 RBI and 12 home runs. In addition, both Taylor Eilders and Maddy Melton lead the way at the top of the lineup, with Melton at 59 hits and Eilders and 58 hits.

Sabrina Boyd leads the way in the circle for Corban, as she owns a CCC-best 1.40 ERA and 16 wins. In addition, Allie Mendez ranks fourth overall in the conference with a 2.29 ERA. Also big contributors for the Warrior pitching staff are Kaylee Graney-Patterson and Rachel White, as Graney Patterson boasts a 3-0 record with a 1.31 ERA in 10.2 innings pitched, while White has tossed 21.2 innings and has a 3.23 ERA.

Corban (34-6, 18-3 CCC) returns to the field this weekend on the road at Eastern Oregon University. First pitch on Friday is slated for 2 p.m.
