CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced on Monday that Allando Brown of the Corban University men's soccer team has earned CCC Red Lion Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Brown—a member of Corban's back line—provided plenty of offensive firepower during the No. 19-ranked Warriors' 3-2 win over Northwest Christian University on Saturday, earning the first brace of his Corban career.
"Allando has been a key piece to our defense," said head coach Tim Kagey. "It's not often that defenders get offensive awards. I think this shows how dynamic of a player he is."
The junior from Kingston, Jamaica found the net just 14 minutes into the contest, giving the Warriors an early advantage in the Interstate-5 battle.
After the Beacons tied the game later, Brown then provided the game-winner for the Warriors, sealing the victory with a 70th-minute goal.
He now has five goals on the season, tying him for third on the team in the category.
Just one weekend of regular-season competition remains for the Navy and Gold, as the unbeaten Warriors will now look ahead to a Friday afternoon contest against Walla Walla University (Senior Day) and a pivotal conference-clash with Rocky Mountain College on Sunday.
