LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) announced on Monday that Corban University softball standout Sarah Probasco garnered the CCC Red Lion Pitcher of the Week honors for her outstanding efforts over the weekend. For Probasco, it marks her first-career CCC Pitcher of the Week plaudit.

"I am so proud of Sarah," said Corban head coach Abigail Farler. "She worked extremely hard over the last two weeks to improve and prepare for her competition. I am excited that this is just the beginning for Sarah. We are just starting to see the potential that she has to make a huge impact!"

Leading Corban to a perfect three wins and zero losses over the weekend against NCAA Division II squads, Probasco went the distance (five innings) against Saint Martins' University on Friday in a 14-1 triumph, allowing just four hits and one run while striking out four. To follow that up on Sunday, she combined with her other pitchers on Sunday to secure the victory against Central Washington University, throwing three scoreless innings while dispersing five hits and striking out two.

Probasco boasts a 2.62 ERA on the year with 26.2 innings pitched, and she has gone the distance in games three times on the campaign. Her opponents' batting average that she allows is now down to just a .252 mark.

Corban (6-4) returns to the diamond this weekend when it hosts Carroll College (Mont.) to begin the 2019 CCC campaign. Games are slated to be played at Warrior Field on Friday and Saturday, pending weather and field conditions.
