SALEM, Ore. – After much anticipation, the long-awaited debut of the Corban University women's lacrosse program is rapidly approaching. Corban head women's lacrosse coach Kylie McMinn has assembled the program's inaugural roster, comprised of 16 talented recruits.
"I am so excited to hit the field this year!" said McMinn. "We have a group of Warriors handpicked by God to start our program off strong, with each individual having a specific purpose on this team. Our inaugural roster has talent, heart, drive, and—most importantly—character. These ladies are already a tight-knit family; I think this first season can go any way, and it will only make us stronger as a program. I'm very pleased with the foundation being laid at Corban women's lacrosse!"

Below is a brief look at the accomplishments of each of the squad's members prior to joining the Navy and Gold.
Meredith Pinkerton – 5'5" – M – West Salem HS/Chemeketa CC – Salem, Ore.
A local product, Pinkerton spent the previous year attending Chemeketa Community College just down the road from Corban, but she will still carry four years of athletic eligibility into her Warrior career. Pinkerton was a swimmer at West Salem High School for two full seasons prior to her collegiate endeavors, showcasing her versatility and athleticism.
Pinkerton will major in history and education at Corban.
Samantha Aguilar – 5'5" – A – Royal HS – Simi Valley, Calif.
Aguilar comes to the Warriors after competing at Royal High School in Simi Valley, Calif. In addition to her lacrosse experience, she competed as a member of the track & field squad as a freshman. She earned a leadership award in her prep years for her work as a captain in her senior season, demonstrating her capabilities as a leader.
Aguilar will study criminal justice at the university.
Kimberly Schott – 5'7" – A – McNary HS/Chemeketa CC – Keizer, Ore.
After a year at Chemeketa Community College, Schott will move across town to join the Navy and Gold. After competing in lacrosse for three years at McNary High School in nearby Keizer, she has chosen to stay local for her collegiate experience. Gifted both on and off the field, she was named to the Dean's List at Chemeketa in both the winter and spring terms of 2020, before making the jump to the four-year academic landscape.
Schott will major in business leadership and management during her time with the Warriors.
Sydney Davis – 5'6" – A – Everett HS – Everett, Wash.
A four-year lacrosse standout at Everett High School, Davis brings several years of key playing experience to Corban's inaugural squad. The attacker was a three-year varsity starter at Everett High School, and spent her off-season with the Time Bandits Lacrosse Club, honing her skills there.
Davis plans to study forensic psychology at the university.
Megan Lia – 5'9" – M – Puyallup HS – Puyallup, Wash.
Lia, a native of Puyallup, Wash., joined the Warrior roster at the mid-year break. Lia's journey from Puyallup High School to Corban was far from ordinary, including a stop at Southeastern University in the interim, where she competed as a member of the school's volleyball team. The dynamic and versatile athlete will now return to the lacrosse field as a member of the Navy and Gold , hoping to make an immediate impact for the team.
Lia intends to major in elementary education during her time in Salem.
Devyn Davis – 5'7" – M/A – Simi Valley HS – Simi Valley, Calif.
Davis enters the fold looking to establish herself as a force on the defensive end for the Navy and Gold. A three-year varsity starter at Simi Valley High School, Davis was the varsity captain in her final year of competition for the squad. She also earned team honors for Best Defensive Player at the school, while simultaneously excelling in club competition for Scream Lacrosse,.
Davis plans to major in humanities while at Corban.
Joanna Wattimena – 5'3" – D – South Salem HS – Salem, Ore.
Two years removed from athletic competition, Wattimena joins the Warriors following a four-year high-school lacrosse career (2014-18) at nearby South Salem High School. The local product was a three-time Willamette Valley League Champion, and was the team's Defensive Player of the Year in each of her final three campaigns. She was a three-year captain of the squad, starting in all three of those seasons.
Wattimena hopes to become a pharmacist by majoring in biomedical science.
Josslyn Ames – 5'7" – D/A – Silverton HS – Silverton, Ore.
Ames, hailing from nearby Silverton, Ore., brings elite athleticism to Corban's inaugural roster. Beyond her talent in lacrosse, she is also a member of the Warrior women's basketball program, having enjoyed a stellar career on the hardwood at Silverton High School. The five-sport high school standout—competing in basketball, cross country, soccer, track & field, and tennis—will hope to make a impact early with her outstanding athleticism.
At Corban, Ames will study business leadership and management.
Meagan Roddewig – 5'1'' – D – Livermore HS – Livermore, Calif.
A 2020 graduate from Livermore High School, Roddewig will look to help shore up the Navy and Gold defense this spring. Making the trek north from the Bay Area in California, she will hope to make herself at home with the Warriors in the coming months and make an impact on the field this spring.
Roddewig will be majoring in nursing, with hopes of becoming a labor and delivery nurse.
Sarah Whitbey – 5'10" – M/C – West Linn HS/Clackamas CC – West Linn, Ore.
Whitbey brings an impressive pedigree to the Warriors' inaugural squad. Having participated in four different sports during her high school career, she was an All-League Honorable Mention honoree in her senior year on the lacrosse field. In her four-year lacrosse career, she tallied 31 goals and 29 assists. Whitbey has been playing lacrosse for 12 years, bringing a wealth of experience to the brand-new squad.
Hoping to become a sports marketer, Whitbey will major in marketing.
Hannah Jenkins – 5'10" – D/M – Bartow HS – Bartow, Fla.
After four strong seasons at Bartow HS, Jenkins will make the trip across the United States to Salem where she will spend the next four years. The defender/midfielder was an All-County team selection in her final three years of competition, while coming in second place in districts during her first two years. She competed in an off-season lacrosse league called the Lakeland Lacrosse League to help her hone her skills for the upcoming season.
Jenkins will study nursing at Corban, with hopes of becoming a missionary nurse.
Payton Nuse – 5'8" – G – Santiago HS – Corona, Calif.
Given her numerous accomplishments at the prep level, Nuse adds a fortifying presence in goal for the Warriors. Having been ranked as high as the sixth-best goalie in the nation at the prep level, she was an All-League honoree—as well as the team captain—at Santiago High School. Also competing for the SoCal Express in the club season, Nuse has a well-traveled lacrosse background.
Nuse will be majoring in liberal arts, while hoping to become a radiologic technologist.
Katie Beebe – 5'8" – A – McNary HS/Chemeketa CC – Keizer, Ore.
After a year at Chemeketa Community College, Beebe will look to demonstrate her attacking prowess at Corban in the spring. The Keizer native spent 2016-19 at the McNary Lacrosse Club, where she played her high school lacrosse.
Liliana Rigdon – 5'7" – D/M – Mater Dei HS – Costa Mesa, Calif.
A Southern California native, Rigdon played four full seasons of lacrosse at Mater Dei High School. A natural leader, the defensive stalwart was the team captain in her senior season. During her high school years, she also competed in volleyball for one season, showing her athletic versatility.
Rigdon will study education at the university, hoping to become a teacher.
Geneen Impreso – 5'3" – A – University City HS – San Diego, Calif.
A two-year high school standout, Impreso has an impressive amount of athleticism at her disposal, having also competed on the basketball court during her time at University City High School. In addition, she was a member of 858 Lacrosse—a club squad in San Diego—during her offseason months.
Impreso intends to follow the nursing path through Corban.
Katelyn Amerino – 5'0" – A – McNary HS/Chemeketa CC – Keizer, Ore.
Rounding out the squad's four Chemeketa Community College transfers, Amerino played four different sports during her high school tenure at McNary High School. Primarily a track & field athlete, she possesses elite speed and athleticism, leading to a smooth transition to lacrosse. She uses her explosiveness as an attacker and midfielder, and will look to make a siginificant contribution in the Navy and Gold's first season of competition.
Amerino will study pre-nursing at Corban, striving to have a career in the medical field.
The squad also added a pair of student-athletes who will be assisting in administrative roles. Jetaya Jones will join the team as a manager, and Sarah Wattimena will assist the squad as a student-assistant.
