SALEM, Ore. – Corban University Head Baseball Coach Derek Legg announced the second portion of his 2022 recruiting class this afternoon, listing 14 transfers who are set to take the field for the Navy and Gold in the upcoming spring campaign.
Cale Thompson – 5'10" – INF – Branham HS/Campbellsville Univ. – Campbell, Calif.
Thompson comes to Salem after a successful career at Campbellsville University where he garnered Mid-South Conference Gold Glove honors. He registered a season batting average well above .320 in back-to-back seasons for Campbellsville and will likely be a key piece of the Warriors middle-infield in the spring.
Thompson is a graduate student pursuing a master's degree in business administration.
Nainoa Ka'ahanui – 5'11" – 1B – Molokai HS/Big Bend CC – Kaunakakai, Hawaii
A transfer from Big Bend Community College, Ka'ahanui figures to add to the depth of the talented Warrior infield and lineup this spring. In his final season at Big Bend, the Hawaiian native hit over .310 and provided stellar defense at first base.
In his time at Corban, Ka'ahanui plans to study kinesiology to pursue a career in occupational therapy.
Brian Landon – 6'2" – 1B/OF – Redlands HS/Cal State Fullerton – Redlands, Calif.
Originally from Redlands, Calif., Landon comes to Corban from Division I Cal State Fullerton. Landon brings experience and athleticism to an already talented Warriors squad. He will be a factor as a middle of the order bat this spring. His versatility defensively could provide him with innings at first base and in all three outfield spots.
Landon will study communications at Corban.
Preston Johnson – 6'0" – RHP – Eagle Point HS/Umpqua CC – Medford, Ore.
Johnson adds yet another electric arm to the Warriors pitching staff. After spending this past season at Umpqua CC, Johnson will fight for a spot in the starting rotation this spring. With strong experience at the collegiate level, he figures to be an integral piece on the mound in 2022.
Johnson will study business marketing while at Corban.
Brad Pellkofer – 6'2" – OF – Sonora HS/Fullerton College – La Habra. Calif.
Hailing from La Habra, Calif., Pellkofer looks to make an immediate impact in the lineup and in the outfield for the Warriors. A dynamic athlete, he provides speed and athleticism both offensively and defensively for the squad. Before transferring to Corban, Pellkofer played at Fullerton College in Fullerton, Calif.
Pellkofer plans to study Criminal Justice at Corban.
Taka Horton – 5'10" – OF – Mt. Carmel HS/San Diego Mesa College – San Diego, Calif.
Horton joins the Navy and Gold after playing at San Diego Mesa College. Horton looks to add versatility, athleticism, and speed to the Warrior outfield this spring.
Horton will be majoring in agribusiness during his time at Corban.
Bryce Bridge – 6'3" – RHP/OF – Neah-Kah-Nie HS/Chemeketa CC – Rockaway Beach, Ore.
Bridge brings an impressive résumé to the Navy and Gold, joining the Warriors after two years at Chemeketa CC. Preluding that, Bridge delivered a standout tenure at Neah-Kah-Nie High School where he played football, basketball, and baseball. His batting average was .570 and he was named first or second team all-league in each of his four baseball seasons.
Bridge will study business while at Corban.
Dillon Mickalson – OF – 6'0" – Red Mountain HS/Scottsdale CC – Mesa, Ariz.
Mickalson, a Mesa, Ariz. native, comes to the Navy and Gold after serving as a four-year baseball player at Red Mountain High School and after two seasons at Scottsdale Community College where he was on the honor roll. He will look to provide a power bat to the Warrior lineup from a corner outfield position during the upcoming campaign.
Mickalson plans to focus his studies in criminal justice while at Corban.
Evan Siegal – 6'0" – RHP – Fort Vancouver HS/Clark CC – Vancouver, Wash.
The Vancouver, Wash. native will provide depth to the Warrior pitching staff. He has served a number of roles in his collegiate career and will likely help the Navy and Gold in a number of ways.
Siegal has not declared a major.
Giovanni Cervantes – 5'9" – RHP – Douglas HS/Eastern Arizona CC – Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico
Originally from Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, Cervantes joins the Warriors after competing at Eastern Arizona College. The sidearmer will look to carve out a bullpen role throughout the year.
Cervantes will major in elementary education while at Corban.
Emilio Davila – 5'11" – C – Pasco HS/Blue Mountain CC – Pasco, Wash.
An experienced backstop, Davila joins the squad after two seasons in Pendleton, Ore. at Blue Mountain CC. He joins a talented crop of catchers for the Navy and Gold and will provide yet another quality option at the position in the coming seasons.
Davila will be an elementary education major at Corban.
Nathan Findley – 6'6" – RHP – Livermore HS/College of the Redwoods – Livermore, Calif.
Findley joins the Warriors after a successful stint at the College of the Redwoods. As a member of the starting rotation, Findley provided numerous solid starts for his former team. The lanky right-hander will provide the remade Corban pitching staff with yet another quality option.
Findley will major in Kinesiology.
Tanner Davis – 6'4" – RHP – Kelso HS/Blue Mountain CC – Kelso, Wash.
Davis joins the Warrior pitching staff after his time at Blue Mountain CC. The Kelso High School graduate will look to develop into a strong option for the Warriors in the coming seasons.
He plans to major in Ministry.
Stuart Weber – RHP/INF – 6'3" – Sam Barlow HS/Mt. Hood CC – Gresham, Ore.
Hailing from nearby Gresham, Ore. Weber, a true two-way player, will make an impact on the hill and at a corner infield spot this spring. Prior to his collegiate experience, Weber enjoyed a standout career at Sam Barlow High School in Gresham, Ore.
Weber will major in Ministry during his time at Corban.
Coming off a campaign where the program reached new heights, the coaching staff has brought in several impact players in an attempt to make another run on the national stage in 2022. The 14 Warrior transfers will join a strong core of returners, and talented incoming freshmen as the team seeks to climb atop the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) and return to NAIA postseason play.
