Corban Men’s Soccer Claims Top Spot in CCC Coaches’ Preseason Poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2021 CCC Men's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Poll on Friday, naming the Corban University men's soccer team as the conference's preseason frontrunner on the heels of the squad's exceptional 2021 spring campaign.

Corban claimed the CCC West-Division Championship this past spring, marking its second-straight year with a conference title. Sweeping both the CCC Regular-Season and Tournament titles in 2019, the Warriors have firmly established themselves as one of the best programs in the NAIA.

Returning all three of the squad's 2020 NAIA Honorable-Mention All-Americans from last season—defender Carlos Llamosa, goalkeeper Justin Keegan, and midfielder Matheus Giron—the Warrior roster projects to be as talented as ever this fall.

The Warriors will first take to the pitch on August 14 in a scrimmage, challenging NCAA Division I Oregon State University, which is fresh off its second NCAA Tournament appearance in the past three seasons.

Corban's first official contest will take place on August 28 against crosstown rival Willamette University, with the Navy and Gold's home opener slated for September 10 against Pacific Lutheran University at the CFC Soccer Complex.

Conference competition begins on September 17 on the road against Walla Walla, and will culminate with the CCC Championships on November 9-12.
