LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Corban University baseball team jumped out to a big lead in Game one of their final regular season series at Eastern Oregon. Unfortunately, a long bottom of the ninth inning and heavy rains in La Grande forced the game to be halted with the score sitting at 14-11 in favor of the Warriors with one out in the inning.
The Warriors will now aim to finish the halted game tomorrow morning, then play the originally schedule doubleheader immediately following the conclusion of the halted game. Game four of the series has been pushed to Monday and will be played if necessary.
Corban got a strong start from Mason Shaw in the contest, as the right-hander went six strong innings, allowing just two earned runs and striking out 10. Corban was paced offensively in the game by the longball as Kyle Clay and Brad Pellkofer launched home runs, while Estenio Sede blasted two home runs.
A complete recap of game one, alongside the recap of games two and three will be posted tomorrow following the conclusion of the action. First pitch is slated for 10 a.m.
