AUSTIN, Texas – The 2022 Academic-All District Baseball teams were announced on Thursday morning, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Corban University baseball standouts Kyle Clay and Drew Scherrer have now been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for their performances both on the field and in the classroom.
The award seeks to recognize student athletes who have turned in elite performances both in the arena of competition and in the classroom.

It's the first Academic All-District nod of Clay's career, the Spokane product wrapped up his season with a team-high .333 average, 61 hits, and 31 RBIs, leading the Warriors in each of these categories. Clay has registered a 3.86 GPA so far in his biology studies.
Scherrer also collects CoSIDA Academic All-District plaudits for the first time in his career, maintaining an impressive GPA of 4.0 in his studies as a criminal justice major. The standout reliever boasts an impressive 1.85 ERA in his 10 appearances.
Both Clay and Scherrer will now advance to the 2022 Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. The duo will have an opportunity to become Corban baseball's first CoSIDA Academic All-Americans since Jarett Thoren in 2018.
