KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) office announced the National Players of the Week earlier this morning for the week of August 21st to 27th, where a long awaited appearance for Warrior Nation finally cracked through for the first time in her storied career. After a dominant weekend at the Midland Showdown against multiple NAIA Top 10 programs, junior outside hitter Rylee Troutman of the No. 2-ranked Corban University Volleyball team was named the NAIA National Attacker of the Week among twenty-one qualified nominees.

"Rylee is so deserving of this honor!" head coach Kim McLain shared once she learned of her captain's accomplishment. "She has been putting in work each day to improve her game. She would be the first to tell you that she is stronger because of the team that surrounds her."
McLain carried on about her two-time All-American by stating, "Her IQ for volleyball is one the best I've ever had the pleasure of coaching, and her power and vision giver her an outstanding ability to put the ball down wherever she wants. It is truly an honor to coach Rylee!"
Ask and you shall receive from the most consistent student-athlete on Coach McLain's roster, as Troutman secured four-straight double-digit kill games against a deep field in Fremont, Nebraska over the past weekend, including three-consecutive matches against NAIA Top 10 teams in No. 7 Viterbo University, No. 9 Midland University, and No. 8 Missouri Baptist University.
Troutman has yet to score less than 10 kills in a match through eight contests this season, highlighted by a 25-kill season-high mark against No. 7 Viterbo to kickoff this past weekend. In addition to a highly efficient attacking percentage listed at .306 over the past four matches, Troutman dug up 28 digs in the backcourt, three blocks at the net and a pair of service aces from the service line.
Thanks to 67 kills over the weekend, Troutman sits at fifth in the NAIA in total kills and fifteenth in kills per set with 4.03 on average over eight matches played. Her season attacking percentage is steadily improving as well compared to her younger classmen seasons, as she's currently connecting on 25.4% of her total attacks to score the most points per set (4.53) than any other student-athlete on the No. 2 team in the NAIA.
Troutman and the No. 2-ranked Warriors will use the beginning of this week to finish preparing for the CCC schedule that they will embark on this upcoming weekend, as they'll welcome Warner Pacific University (0-7, 0-0) and Multnomah University (0-0, 0-0) to the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center in the first weekend of conference contests thus far this season. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time by clicking HERE.
