Warrior Baseball Looks to Exceed Expectations Following 2025 CCC Coaches’ Preseason Poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2025 CCC Baseball Coaches' Preseason Poll earlier this morning, where the Corban University Baseball team received 19 voter points to sit in the seventh-place position of the now eight-team conference standings. The Warriors will need to move up at least two spots over the 2025 season if they want to qualify for the CCC Tournament that kicks off on May 2nd and runs through May 5th.

"We're looking forward to this upcoming season, and I love the people that are in our clubhouse from the players to the coaching staff," head coach Ryan Harris shared earlier today. "I trust them, they're passionate about this game, and they care about each other. This is a great conference as each team has their own challenges, but we know, respect, and honor that as a program. Nothing will be given to us, and we will have to go earn it. I believe in this group and can't wait to see them compete this spring."

After clinching the 2024 regular season crown, Lewis-Clark State College received seven of the eight first place votes to stand at the top of the preseason standings at 62 voter points this year, looking to begin a new postseason streak of reaching the World Series after failing to return to Harris Field for the first time in over 20 years.

The last first place vote was assigned to the University of British Columbia and their 55 voter points for the runner-up prediction to begin 2025, while Oregon Tech rounds out the top three with 48 voter points. Bushnell University (43) takes home the fourth-overall placement thanks to a breakout season in which they defeated LC State in the CCC Championship matchup to reach the NAIA Opening Round for the first time in their short program history. The College of Idaho completes the top five with 30 voter points.

Despite taking three of four conference matchups and splitting the non-conference series with Eastern Oregon University in 2024, the Warriors are three voter points behind the Mountaineers to begin the 2025 season in seventh overall. Coach Harris is beginning his second year as the leader of Corban baseball, while EOU is introducing their second head coach in a three-year span this upcoming season. Meanwhile, Warner Pacific University is rejoining the CCC as a sponsor for varsity baseball for the first time since 1989.

The Warriors are expected to begin their 2025 spring season in Redding, California with a four-game non-conference series scheduled against Simpson University, beginning on January 31st and ending February 1st. The entire 2025 spring schedule will be released on the Corban Athletic website prior to the beginning of spring term, and will be made available by clicking HERE.
