The highlight of the tournament for Corban men's wrestling came in the 141-pound weight class, as junior Blake Runion trucked his way through the division with a 5-0 record via every possible result in collegiate wrestling decisions. First, he won via a 17-1 technical fall over North Idaho College's Jackson Webb and a pin over Big Bend Community College's Aiden Meikle to reach the quarterfinal stage where he won in sudden victory over Clackamas Community College's Mathhew Hernandez.

Into the semifinal stage, Runion took down tournament host Mountaineers' Mason Wolcott via a major decision of 11-2, capping off his title run with an 11-4 decision over the University of Providence's Hunter Dyer for the second collegiate tourney weight class title in his three years as a Warrior.

Redshirt junior German Munoz secured a third-place title in the 174-weight class after advancing to the division semifinals and falling via decision yet was able to earn a 16-0 technical fall in the consolation semifinals and 15-5 major decision over Arizona Christian University's Kaden Martin, the 24th-ranked wrestler in the NAIA for the weight class, to wrap up successful season opening tournament.

Warriors' Ethan Graham also outperformed expectations set for the true freshman, as he also reached the semifinal stage in the 197-weight class to eventually place fourth overall in a deep division featured in La Grande this weekend.

Also competing for the Corban men's wrestling program today was redshirt sophomore Aidan Walter (174 – consolation round five), junior Lance Stover (157 – consolation round two), and redshirt junior Wesley Vasquez (141 – consolation round two).

The Navy and Gold will host their home opener this upcoming Thursday in a dual with Southwestern Oregon Community College, as they'll welcome the Lakers to campus for a 7pm dual start time.
