Pinkerton Reveals Inaugural Recruiting Class Ahead of Women’s Lacrosse Season Opener

SALEM, Ore. – In her first season as the Corban University Women's Lacrosse head coach, Meredith Pinkerton looks to extend the same welcoming experience that she once had as a recruit putting on the navy and gold threads for the first time, as she's announced a trio of new Warriors that will be looking to earn immediate playing time on the field this upcoming spring.

"We are so blessed to welcome this group of young women to Corban women's lacrosse!" Coach Pinkerton shared. "Elsie, Milo, and Mercedes all bring a new level of spirit and focus to our team. They have been such encouraging and positive additions throughout fall and preseason training, and we are so excited to have them join us on the field as we enter the new season!"

To read up on the most recent additions to the Warrior women's lacrosse program, see below for a brief biography on each of the Corban recruits.

Elsie Marineau – 5'7" – Midfielder – Oregon City, Ore. – Oregon City HS – Clackamas CC

The first addition to the 2024 Corban women's lacrosse recruiting class is a traditional junior by way of transfer from Clackamas Community College, but will be making her first appearance in collegiate athletics this upcoming season. After having played four years of varsity lacrosse at Oregon City High School, Marineau looks to make an immediate impact on the Warriors' midfield core that saw them lose two senior starting midfielders to spring graduation in 2023.

She plans on pursuing a degree in biomedical sciences in order to become a veterinarian in her post-collegiate adventures.

Amelia Bossard – 5'7" – Defender – Medford, Ore. – South Medford HS

A senior by way of academic prowess, having earned Dean's List recognitions at her previous institutions that eventually brought her to the state capital, Bossard will provide Coach Pinkerton and her staff with even more depth on the defensive end of the field with her 5'7 frame and agile speed from high school varsity basketball.

Bossard will be studying intercultural studies with an emphasis on linguistics during her time at Corban, with intentions of pursuing a career in scripture engagement and translation.

Mercedes Comstock – 5'4" – Defender – Stayton, Ore. – Stayton HS

The final member of the Warriors' most recent recruiting class brings an extended resume from various high school sports played and lineage of college athletes that run in the family. Comstock, a three-sport athlete at Stayton High School, brings a four-year volleyball career alongside two-year basketball and track & field stints with her to the lacrosse field, having earned All-League Honorable Mention recognition for the West Coast Conference during indoor volleyball season. Representing the only true freshman in this year's class, she will continue on the legacy that Benjamin Comstock holds within her family of becoming a collegiate athlete, who was once a rugby player for NCAA DI Oregon State University.

Comstock plans on securing a degree in business administration with an emphasis on marketing in order to become a marketing executive, while simultaneously completing a minor in intercultural studies.
