CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2024 CCC Women's Cross Country Coaches' Preseason Poll on Thursday morning, where the Corban University women's cross country program was tabbed for a sixth-place finish in the nationally respected conference field. The Warriors finished seventh at the 2023 CCC Championships and have been predicted to move up a single placement by the end of the 2024 season.

"The women's team will be much improved this season thanks to our incoming recruits and the hard work our returners have put in," stated Warriors' assistant coach Stuart Eagon. "We haven't had the healthiest summer of training overall and have a lot of work to do entering the fall season, but we are excited for this team's future and everything that lays in front of them this year!"
After securing the first national championships of the 2023-24 academic school year for any of the conference programs, The College of Idaho women were selected to repeat as CCC champions on a nearly unanimous basis, receiving eight of the eleven first-place votes available and 117 total voter points. Southern Oregon University received the remaining first-place votes to sit in the runner-up position with 108 voter points.
Lewis-Clark State College (98), Eastern Oregon University (92), and Oregon Tech (76) rounded out the top five finishers in the eleven-team conference preseason standings, with the Warriors (67) right behind the Owls in sixth overall. This predicted finish in 2024 would be tied for the highest Corban women's cross country has placed at the CCC Championships since the 2020 season.
Following the Navy and Gold in this year's preseason poll was Northwest University (47), Bushnell University (45), The Evergreen State College (31), Multnomah (24), and Walla Walla University (14). The Eagles were the last remaining program not to be mentioned that finished ahead of the Warriors at the 2023 CCC Championship meet, while the Geoducks and Beacons flip their placements from last year into this year's expected results. The Lions and Wolves were both unable to field full teams in the 2023 postseason participation, and will thus be looking to climb the conference rankings as the season progresses from the tenth and eleventh poll positions, respectively.
The 2024 CCC Championships will be on Friday, November 8th at the Rose City Golf Club in Portland, Oregon and will be hosted by Multnomah. The women's race is expected to start at roughly 10am that day.
The Warriors will have their first meet of the fall season on Saturday, August 31st up the Willamette Valley in McMinnville, where NCAA DIII Linfield University will host the Linfield Harrier Classic at 10am. To view the complete 2024 schedule for Corban women's cross country, click HERE.
