2024 CCC Coaches’ Preseason Poll Results Places Corban Men’s Soccer at Twelfth Overall

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2024 CCC Men's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Poll earlier this morning, where the Corban University Men's Soccer program was selected to finish twelfth overall in the extremely deep west coast-based conference. Despite finishing eighth in last year's conference standings and holding a postseason appearance streak of eleven-consecutive seasons, the Warriors will face an uphill battle against the fourteen-team conference and look to deny the hesitant voting casted against them this upcoming fall.

"Our program has great motivation coming into this season after so much change the past two years," commented Warriors' head coach Josh Rios Noonkester. "The team had a healthy response this morning to the preseason rankings, as they know that nothing is given in this conference, only earned. We don't agree with where we were voted, but that's not something we can control. Our mentality is to give maximum effort on a daily basis, and everything else will work itself out as we progress through the season."

In typical preseason poll fashion, the top portion of the results are unchanged when compared to last year's final standings, with Southern Oregon University picked to repeat as conference champions with 216 voter points and eight of the fourteen first-place votes. After a stunning upset in the CCC Tournament championship match over the Raiders last year, The College of Idaho has been picked to finish as the runner-up program in 2024 at 182 points, clinching five of the first-place votes available.

Warner Pacific University (163) snagged the final first-place vote remaining to round out the top three in this year's poll, with Carroll College (149) and Oregon Tech (128) hot on the Knights' trail. The Evergreen State College Geoducks (109) snapped a lengthy postseason skid in 2023 when they finished sixth overall and have been picked to conclude 2024 with the same result.

The next six spots in the conference standings appear to be anyone's best guess, as just 31 points separate the seventh-place Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain College and twelfth-place Warriors of Corban. Rocky Mountain (97) and Northwest University (88) represent the final two "postseason-worthy" teams in 2024 according to the head coaches from around the region.

Eastern Oregon University (86) was just two voter points away from a top eight selection and instead settled for ninth this season, followed by the University of Providence (71) to conclude the top ten. Multnomah (67) was just a single point ahead of Corban (66) for eleventh and twelfth, respectively, with Bushnell University (49) and Walla Walla University (14) concluding this year's preseason poll results.

The top eight teams in the 2024 conference standings at the conclusion of the regular season will earn themselves a seed in the 2024 CCC Tournament, which is arranged to begin on November 10th at the Lithia & Driveway Fields of Medford, Oregon for the first time in conference history.

The Warriors are scheduled to host Clark College a week from today at the Outdoor Athletic Complex in a friendly scrimmage at 11am to kick off their 2024 season slate, followed by their first counting contest of the year the next evening against Stanton University.
