CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the McDonald's CCC Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for the competitions held between October 13th to 19th, where for the second time in a three-week window, the No. 8-ranked Corban University Women's Volleyball team secured two of the three individual weekly awards available for CCC women's volleyball. With their last 2-for-3 outing being represented by seniors, this week's Warriors enshrined in the Player of the Week archives are a pair of juniors in outside hitter Emma Bischoff (Attacker) and libero Kaile'a Ontai (Defender).

Bischoff and Ontai were integral pieces in the Warriors' pair of NAIA Top 20 victories on Tim Hills Court this weekend, as they led Corban to a four-set upset over previously undefeated No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University, followed by a four-set revenge victory over No. 19-ranked College of Idaho. Their weekend sweep marks the first time since 2022 that the Warriors have defeated both EOU and C of I on back-to-back nights, and the first time at home since 2021.
"Emma continues to push herself both mentally and physically, earning this week's attacking honor through her relentless work ethic and dedication to improving every day," Warriors' head coach Kim McLain shared regarding her program's fourth Attacker of the Week honor in 2025. She gives her best effort both on and off the court, setting standards for others. I'm so proud of her growth and honored to be her coach."
A masterful performance against the No. 1-ranked Mountaineers was more than enough to clinch Attacker of the Week honors for Bischoff, as the Medford native pummeled a game-high 19 kills with only five errors for an impressive .326 attacking percentage. She added nine more kills against the No. 19-ranked Yotes and stacked up four blocks defensively. On the weekend, Bischoff aced five serves, which moved her into the top four across the CCC with 0.44 service aces per set on the year, all while digging up seven opposing attacks for digs.
"Kai has earned this Defender of the Week honor through her grit, effort, and never-give-up attitude," continued Coach McLain when asked to discuss her libero's first career weekly award. "She's been putting in extra work, and it's clearly paying off in her performances. I'm proud of her determination and honored to coach her!"
Ontai put together her single best weekend of defense of the season thus far, as she tallied 47 total digs across the eight sets played in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center for a substantial 5.88 digs per set average. She nearly clinched a new career-high in digs with 28 against C of I on Saturday as well as her first ever double-double outing after adding seven assists. Ontai is currently tied for the conference lead in digs per set at 4.61 with Oregon Tech's Abigail Sorensen while playing in four less sets than the Lady Owls have to date.
Bischoff, Ontai, and the rest of the No. 8-ranked Corban women's volleyball squad will hit the road for the next two weeks, starting in western Washington as they'll complete their season series with The Evergreen State College (1-17, 1-13) on Friday, October 24th at 6pm.
