Seven of the ten weight classes went the Warriors' (1-2) way today in their opener against Simpson (0-3), as the Red Hawks picked up pins at 133 and 165lbs while the 285-weight class was forfeited by Corban. Despite the 18 quick points, the Navy and Gold retaliated with four pins, a technical fall, a major decision, and a decision to tally 36 team points on the road.
Senior Bo Davis at 149lbs was the first Warrior to secure a fall in 5:40 over Simpson's Tomas Jacobo, followed by three-straight Corban pins at 174, 184, and 197 by sophomore Armando Nicacio, junior Isaiah Twait, and senior Asaiah Kamplain. Both Nicacio and Kamplain pinned their Red Hawk counterparts in the first round, with Nicacio securing the fall over Kyle Stevens in just 1:15.

A quick 9-0 hole put the Dubs in a difficult precarious rebounding situation in the second dual against the NCAA DII Gators (5-3), with freshman Mason Thynes' decision over Shea Dawson representing the first Corban team points score before SFSU tacked on 18 more via a forfeit at 149lbs and back-to-back pins at 157 and 165.
Nicacio and Twait once again pinned both of their opponents to pull the Warriors within 12 team points, while Kamplain accepted a forfeit win to pull Corban within six points entering the final bout. However, with no student-athlete active at 285lbs tonight for the Navy and Gold, San Francisco State accepted their own forfeit win to clinch the dual result.
