CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the CCC Players of the Week for the competitions held between March 3rd to 9th, where the Corban University Track & Field programs were represented by an underclassmen sprinter who flew to a first-place finish and championship qualifying mark this past weekend in Newberg.

"Kirsten had an excellent day at the Rich Allen Classic, winning the 100m and qualifying for the conference meet in both the 100m and long jump," explained Corban head coach Todd Bos when he learned of his sophomore's weekly award from the CCC. "She has made tremendous progress from last year. Lord willing, Kirsten will continue to improve over the spring and move up the Corban record board in her events."

Sophomore sprinter/jumper Kirsten Kuenzi was named the CCC Track Athlete of the Week after finishing first overall out of a nearly 40-woman 100m sprint event at the Rich Allen Classic, hosted by NCAA DIII George Fox University, clocking a 12.67 final time to beat out numerous NAIA and NCAA student-athletes and hit the qualifying mark for the CCC Championships that are scheduled to take place in May. Additionally, she placed seventh in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.04m, which also qualifiers her for the conference meet later this spring.

Kuenzi and the rest of the Warrior track & field squads will next be in action on Saturday, March 15th at the LCC Open, hosted by Lane Community College at Titan Stadium with events beginning as early as 9am.
