GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Another pair of All-Americans were crowned today for the Corban University Track & Field programs, as two of the four competitors in action at the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships secured podium placements in their respective events to give the Warriors three award winners for the weekend. Redshirt senior high jumper Kayla Morgan was the first Corban student-athlete to finish with All-American honors today, while junior long distance runner Jack Gladfelter nearly pulled off a stunning upset in the men's 5,000m race.

"We're really proud of how Kayla and Oli performed today," shared Warriors' head coach Todd Bos regarding his All-American jumpers. "Both have battled nagging injuries this winter that have affected their training. Kayla really worked hard today in earning another All-American award. She is to the point where these awards are becoming 'ho-hum', but they really shouldn't. Each accomplishment she earns should be celebrated. Oliver ran into some issues today due to his hard effort yesterday and the injury he suffered earlier this winter not quite being fully healed. Praise the Lord he stayed healthy during this competition, but I knew he was disappointed not to be at his best today. Hopefully, Lord willing, the outdoor scene will be where Oliver shines this spring."
Morgan secured the third All-American honor of her career and second on the indoor pits after she was one of seven jumpers to clear 1.69m, immediately clinching herself a podium finish in the process. She was one of four remaining student-athletes not able to clear the 1.72m mark, settling for a seventh-place finish overall as the Cascade Collegiate Conference's (CCC) lone representation in the event.
Sophomore Oliver Reis, who snagged an All-American finish in the men's long jump yesterday, felt the impact of a lingering injury settle in today during the men's triple jump, forcing him to fault his first two jumps and settle for an extremely conservative 13.96m jump, mover than 1.5 meters lower than his A-standard and school record. He'll look to continue his jumping success on the indoor runways this upcoming spring.
"Jack's 5,000m race today was one of the most exciting NAIA races I've been a part of," explained Corban associate head coach Stuart Eagon when asked to discuss his distance runners' performances. "The crowd was rowdy and it appeared Jack had a shot at winning over the last few laps. Luca Madeo from Cumberlands took off hard from the start and had a pretty solid gap on the entire field. We knew he was likely to do this being such a strong runner, but we were okay with deliberately letting Jack not waste too much energy trying to catch up right away. Jack and Logan Ferrari from Mount Mary traded laps catching up to Madeo, and Jack overtook him for a clear 1-vs-1 for the national title with 800 meters to go. It looked like Jack had a pretty solid chance at winning over the last lap, but credit to Madeo for closing the gap over the last 20 meters to win the race. It had shades of Robert Swoboda's national championship in 2022, but he came up short to a good runner in Madeo who was the defending national champion. Jack feels completely at peace about it and knows that God was glorified in his race today. I'm most proud of his disposition, always in winning or in just barely losing. I would be remised in not mentioning Zander's performance, as he ran a good race and missed All-American by just four spots. He moved up throughout the race and did well in a very competitive field this year."
Gladfelter continues to raise the bar for Corban long distance runners on a seasonal basis, this time clinching his fourth All-American honor in a two-year span by nearly upending the reigning national champion at 5,000m and instead secured the first national runner-up finish of his already illustrious career. At 14:14.31, Gladfelter finished three seconds behind his personal best, but just over a second behind the University of Cumberland's Luca Madeo who nabbed his second-straight national title in the event.
Senior Zander Moha entered today's 3,000m race as one of the final qualifiers for the event after earning an at-large selection to compete yet outperformed a handful of his competitors to move up into the top 12 over the course of the race. His 12th place finish was just four spots outside of All-American honors and the 8:28.05 time he clocked is a couple seconds off his school record personal best.
Bos finished his thoughts on this week's championships by sharing, "Overall, the meet went about as well as we could have hoped for. Three All-American awards is a program record for our indoor teams. Jack's race was awesome to watch as he almost pulled off a national championship finish, and Zander ran a very strong race as well. God is always good, and we thank Him for all His blessings to our programs."
The Warriors now firmly turn their attention towards outdoor season, which both programs completely open competition with next Saturday, March 14th at the Rich Allen Classic, hosted by NCAA DIII George Fox University at Stoffer Family Stadium.
