Three Program Records Fall as Warriors Complete Two-Day Outing at John Knight Twilight

MONMOUTH, Ore. – As the 2025 spring outdoor season progresses further into the back half of competitive competition, the weekly list of conference qualifying marks, new school records, and both top ten all-time program and national marks continues to grow thanks to the efforts of the Corban University Men's and Women's Track & Field teams, as the Warriors completed action at the John Knight Twilight Invite, hosted by NCAA DII Western Oregon University at McArthur Field, with even more records falling by the conclusion of the two-day event.

"Our team has been working hard this year, including back to last summer, and we continue to see the fruits of our labor through God's blessing," detailed Corban head coach Todd Bos. "Our team set three new school records and had thirteen all-time top ten program marks. Of course, not everything went perfectly, but I am super proud of this group of Corban track and field student-athletes. Lord willing, we will continue to see improvements up through the conference meet. More importantly, we ask that God continues to shape our hearts to honor Him with our track and field endeavors."

Three different program records fell this weekend for the Warrior track & field programs, beginning on Friday when senior Gabrielle Tata-Rodrigues hurled the 23rd best hammer throw mark in the NAIA this season at 47.82m, surpassing her previous personal best by nearly three meters and breaking the top toss in school history by over two meters. Tata-Rodrigues took fourth in the NCAA heavy field and will have multiple opportunities to better her school record before the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Championships take place in early May.

On the men's side, sophomore Braydon Lee had already set the school record in the 1,500m race earlier this season and decided to shave off nearly another second from his all-time personal best at 3:53.63, which is the 12th fastest in the nation through Saturday's competition, as the indoor All-American creeps closer by the meet to hitting the NAIA minimum qualifying mark for the event. An unattached Gus Harquail narrowly bested Lee by 0-29 seconds to win the event today on Western Oregon's campus, while he was able to beat out top performers from long-distance powerhouse programs from fellow CCC member Southern Oregon University and NCAA DIII George Fox University.

After clocking the second fastest 100m sprint time in school history in her previous attempt, sophomore Kirsten Kuenzi became the fastest Warrior sprinter in women's track & field program history earlier today with a 12.40 dash, besting an 11-year record set in 2014 by 0.03 seconds for the 56th fastest time in the NAIA for the 2025 season thus far. Kuenzi eventually finished in third for the event and bested numerous NCAA DI athletes along the way.

Four different Corban student-athletes all hit CCC qualifying marks for the first time in new events this weekend, which includes redshirt junior Kayla Morgan (100m hurdles – 16.26), junior Zander Moha (5,000m – 14:51.06, third all-time for Corban), sophomore Jack Gladfelter (5,000m – 14:44.11, 12th best run in NAIA for 2025), and sophomore Malena Robnett (shot put – 10.70m, eighth all-time for Corban).

Also earning new all-time career marks up and down the Corban record books includes freshman Aaden Ackley (110m hurdles – 15.73, fourth all-time), junior DJ Armstead (100m – 10.87, second all-time), freshman James Davidson (hammer throw – 36.15m, ninth all-time), sophomore Shaelee Killorn (1,500m – 4:49.06, sixth all-time & 800m – 2:22.48, eighth all-time), freshman Bennet Mason (5,000m – 15:25.04, sixth all-time), and senior Will Maupin (100m – 11.31, ninth all-time).

The Warrior track & field programs will have their first look at CCC-centered competition next week, as the 17th and 18th will represent the Multi-Event Championships hosted by Oregon Tech, with the OIT Invite running from the 18th to the 19th all at Moehl Stadium.
