SALEM, Ore. – For the first time in program history, the Corban University Men's and Women's Track & Field programs hosted an outdoor meet at the foot of campus within the confines of the Outdoor Athletic Complex and saw a handful of special occasions take place, many of which for a first time as program records were broken, new national top marks were achieved, and a legendary head coach was honored at the inaugural Nancy & Norm Berney Classic.

"Today was a historic day for the Warrior track and field team," began Corban head coach Todd Bos when asked to discuss the incredible day at the OAC. "The first outdoor meet on the new facility, honoring Coach Berney who continues to leave a Godly legacy for the team, and some great performances."
Coach Bos continued with his thoughts on today's events by sharing, "First of all, a tremendous thank you for all the work put in by the team, assistant coaches, and Corban administration to make this event happen. We finally got to honor our seniors at a home meet and show the Corban community what our hard work can accomplish. We are thankful God gave us such a beautiful day with great competition. We had some really good marks today, but while those are important, the more important thing was the sense of community based on Christ. This is a special team, and I am honored to be able to lead them."
From a competitive standpoint, the highlight of the day came late in the afternoon sessions during the women's high jump, as redshirt junior Kayla Morgan continued her incredible collegiate career by notching another top mark, this time represented by the second highest leap in the nation this season. After clinching the event title, Morgan raised the height to 1.78m in front of her family and friends at the OAC and saw her previous 1.72m program record shattered on Corban's campus, as she cleared the five-foot ten-inch height on her second attempt and even saw a 1.81m final try come within millimeters of setting a new best for the NAIA in 2025. For now, she'll settle for second as she eyes a second-straight high jump title at the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Championships in two-weeks' time.
Six more top ten all-time marks were achieved today by a handful of Corban student-athletes, along with three new CCC qualifying marks by junior DJ Armstead in the men's 400m, senior Gabrielle Tata-Rodrigues in the women's shot put, and sophomore Shaelee Killorn in the women's 800m.
At the conclusion of today's meet, ten Warriors were honored for their collegiate careers spent with in the men's and women's track & field programs, which included distance runners Forrest Cooley, Kaleb Floyd, and Judah Koehler, throwers Gabrielle Tata-Rodrigues, Keelyn O'Reilly, and Anthony Salisbury, hurdlers Kristi Hirte and David McCormick, and jumpers Will Maupin and Leah Nastri.
A contingency of Warriors will attempt to hit any last minute CCC qualification marks next week at the OSU High Performance Meet, hosted by NCAA DI Oregon State University, with competition stretching across Friday and Saturday, May 2nd and 3rd.
