Trio of Warrior Pairings Earn AVCA Top Flight Recognition for Corban Beach Volleyball

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) released their 2025 Top Flight for collegiate beach volleyball across the three NCAA divisions, NAIA, and two-year junior colleges, where the No. 2-ranked Corban University Beach Volleyball team was responsible for a fourth of the total NAIA selections with their top, third, and fourth pairs all earning the most recent national recognition for the program. In order to qualify for the Top Flight award, pairs must have competed in at least 15 matches together this past spring season at a specific flight while winning at least 75% of their total matchups at time of nomination, which for the NAIA was just before the beginning of the national championship tournament.

"We've seen these three pairs comprised of Megan and Emma at the 1's, Jessica and Emmi at the 3's, and Alexis and Gabi at the 4's, recognized for several awards this season already," Corban head coach Dan Stephens explained regarding his program's most recent honors. "The story is simple, we had a great season with strong pairings throughout, and this recognition is an honor to these pairs and to the whole Corban Beach team that worked so hard at becoming a top contending program. I'm proud once again of these sandy Warriors!"

Having most recently been named the NAIA Pair of the Year and First Team All-Americans, senior Megan Dennis and sophomore Emma Bischoff entered the national invitational at 15-4 overall and eventually concluded their 2025 season at 17-7, including their fifth win of the year over conference rival Southern Oregon University's Madi Gray and Tessa Zimmermann to help push the Warriors into the national championship match.

The Cascade Collegiate Conference's (CCC) Pair of the Year represented by Corban's third-overall duo of senior Jessica McMillian and junior Emmi Marks held the highest win percentage of any Navy and Gold duo in the 2025 season, which represents the second best in program history while tying the all-time total win record for a pair with 24 victories. For pairs that played more than 20 matches in a single season, their winning percentage is top of the six-year varsity program.

In their first season together as Warriors, junior Alexis Adebodun and freshman Gabi Engels put together an incredible 2025 debut with a 23-5 overall record, joining McMillian and Marks as the only pairs in the CCC to finish 14-1 in conference matchups while also becoming the fifth pair in program history to win at least 20 pair matchups. Their 82.1% win percentage this past season ranks fourth best all-time for a duo while individually ranking seventh for a single year.
