GREENWOOD, Ind. – Earlier this morning, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization announced the 2025 Academic All-District teams for collegiate softball that covers all levels of the NCAA, NAIA, and junior college associations, where the Corban University Softball program was honored with three recipients having earned the prestigious dual athletic and academic award bestowed annually.

"Our staff is very proud of these student-athletes, as they continually push themselves to achieve lofty goal both on the field and in the classroom," Corban head coach Jeff Covalt shared earlier today.
The CSC Academic All-America program is nominated and voted on by members of the CSC, which are the Sports Information Directors/Athletic Communication leaders from every NAIA institution. Each school's nominees must have met the following criteria to be eligible for the award: at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically; have maintained at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA; have participated in at least 90% or started in 66% of the team's scheduled counting contests for the regular season. For women's softball specifically, pitchers are eligible if they made either at least 17 appearances or pitched at least 35.0 innings, while a maximum of five student-athletes may be submitted for consideration from each program.
The 2025 Corban softball roster saw a trio of junior upperclassmen named to this year's Academic All-District class, including pitchers Kate Banks and Vanesa Quinones alongside outfielder Gianna Redman who all made key impacts on the field for the Navy and Gold this past regular season while maintaining impressive GPAs. This is both Banks and Quinones' second time receiving the CSC recognition having been honored with the Academic All-District title in the spring of 2024, while Redman is making her first appearance for the Warriors on the prestigious award listing.
An NAIA-based selection committee consisting of members from the athletic communication departments across the country will next determine which of the All-District recipients will receive Academic All-American honors. Nominees will be sorted into groupings based on position they play on the field and will be considered for the scholarly All-American status with both athletic and academic success taken into consideration.
