The CSC Academic All-America program is nominated and voted on by members of the CSC, which are the Sports Information Directors/Director of Athletic Communications from every NAIA institution. Each school's nominees must have met the following criteria to be eligible for the awards: at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically and have maintained at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA through their most recently completed semester. For cross country/track & field specifically, student-athletes must have finished in the top 25 at their respective conference cross country meet or rated in the top 25 for a single event category in their conference for either indoor or outdoor track & field.
"Congratulations to our Academic All-District student-athletes," began Corban cross country/track & field head coach Todd Bos. "God has blessed these individuals with a sharp intellect and curiosity. The athletes themselves have worked hard in the classroom and have high expectations for themselves. We are honored to have this group represent Corban cross country/track & field!"
Representing the Corban cross country/track & field programs this year is two returning honorees in junior distance runner Zander Moha and redshirt junior decathlete Anthony Salisbury, while six Warriors qualified for the award for the first time in their collegiate careers. Joining Moha and Salisbury this year is graduate student Forrest Cooley, senior sprinter/jumper Will Maupin, sophomore thrower Caleb Jannsen, sophomore distance runner Shaelee Killorn, sophomore sprinter/jumper Kirsten Kuenzi, and sophomore distance runner/pole vaulter Johnna Waddell.
An NAIA-based selection committee consisting of members from the athletic communication departments across the country will now determine which of the All-District recipients will receive Academic All-American honors. Nominees will all be grouped together into one list and considered for the scholarly All-American status with both athletic and academic success taken into consideration.
