Mills Named CCC Defender of the Week Following Dominant All-NAIA Tourney Appearance

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the CCC Players of the Week for the competitions held between August 25th to 31st, where the No. 3-ranked Corban University Volleyball program saw one of their standout lowerclassmen named to the Defender of the Week honor for the first time in her young career following a head-turning performance over this past weekend. Sophomore middle blocker Addison Mills earned her first-ever CCC Player of the Week award following a 2025 Hampton Inn Classic appearance that frustrated opposing attackers on a nightly basis while setting personal best marks at the net.

"Addison has truly stepped up as a dominant force at the net, earning this recognition through her relentless effort, never-give-up attitude, and smart plays," Corban head coach Kim McLain explained regarding her sophomore middle blocker. "Her ability to make quick adjustments and consistent blocks has made a huge impact on our team's success."

In just her fifth career collegiate start for the Warriors, Mills became the seventh player in program history to record double-digit blocks in a single match, as she swatted ten attacks back to sender against Our Lady of the Lake University and eventually concluded her weekend with 19 blocks in total. Against (RV) Carroll College and No. 13-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Mills rejected nine more blocks in total to help lead Corban to a 3-0 tourney appearance on their home court.

From a conference level, the Ephrata, Washington native is averaging 1.36 blocks per set in seven matches thus far, which is fourth best in the CCC and 13th most across the entire NAIA. In addition, Mills has provided the Navy and Gold with 25 kills on a .215 kill percentage from the middle of the net and leads the team in blocks with 34 in total.

Mills and the Warriors officially kick off CCC action this upcoming Wednesday and Thursday in the first conference contests across the Pacific Northwest when they host RV Bushnell University (6-4) and Warner Pacific University (0-1) at 6pm both nights in the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
