"It is an honor to be recognized in the top ten of the NAIA national poll!" explained Warriors' head coach Kim McLain. "It is a reflection of the hard work this team puts in every day/ While we're proud of this recognition, our focus remains on improving daily. We take it one match at a time, staying locked in on growth, focus, and unity. The journey is far from over, and we're committed to getting better together."
After appearing at No. 3-overall to start the 2025 season via the NAIA coaches' preseason poll, the Navy and Gold completed a 6-1 non-conference slate with their sole loss coming on the road in a dramatic five-setter to now No. 11-ranked Missouri Baptist University in the Spartans' home tourney. Of the Warriors' six wins thus far, four of them have come against NAIA Top 25 opponents, including now No. 8-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University, No. 12- ranked No. 13-ranked St. Thomas University, and No. 17-ranked Midland University. In addition to their three-set sweeps over the Eagles, V-Hawks, and Warriors of Midland, they also picked up sweeps over RV Carroll College, who is the second-highest receiving votes squad, and NCAA DII Western Oregon University in an exhibition matchup with the Wolves.
In two weeks, Corban women's volleyball has locked up a pair of CCC Player of the Week awards, as senior opposite hitter Makayla Roginski picked up an Attacker of the Week honor two weeks ago while sophomore middle blocker Addison Mills was most recently named the Defender of the Week this past Monday and is ranked 13th in the country in blocks per set (1.36). As a team, the Navy and Gold are top ten nationally in kills per set (13.76) and score the fifth-most points per set (18.6) with seven contests completed through three weeks of action.
At 6pm tonight on Tim Hills Court, the Warriors will host the first CCC contest of the school year across the conference as Bushnell University (6-4) will travel to Salem for the first I-5 rivalry matchup of the 2025 fall season.
