SALEM, Ore. – As announced by head coach Kylie Frizell, the Corban University Women's Basketball program is set to host an inaugural Welcome Event and Alumni 3v3 Basketball Tournament this upcoming October, where members of Warrior Nation will have the opportunity to meet this year's Navy and Gold squad, participate in family-themed activities, and play against fellow Corban alumni in a team tournament. A Kid Play Zone will be available for families with little ones, which will includer a Bounce House and Face Paint station. The event is free for all alumni and kids/young adults 18 and under, while admission for all non-alumni adults is $5 per person or with a program donation provided at the door.
"I'm really excited for our upcoming welcome event and alumni tournament," Coach Frizell shared regarding her team's first major appearance of the school year. "My hope is that this can be a community event to support the current Warrior squad while also catching up with our alumni. We hope to see you and your families on campus!"
The early morning to afternoon event will take place on Saturday, October 11th at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center atop Corban's campus and will feature three major time slots throughout the day. First, the 2025-26 Corban women's basketball roster will hold an open practice from 9am to 10:30am to provide alumni, future Warriors, and their families an opportunity to see what the new-look squad has in store for this upcoming season.
At 10:30am, the women's basketball program will be available for a Meet the Team session, where event participants will hear directly from the student-athletes and coaches about what's in store for the 2025-26 competitive slate.
Following the Meet the Team portion of the event, the 3v3 Alumni Tournament and 3-Point Shootout contest will take place, with both 21-35 and 35+ age group brackets. Teams are required to have at least three participants but can sign up as a foursome as well with one rotating bench player.
All participating teams will receive team jerseys (shirts) provided to them by Coach Frizell and her program, while each of the age group bracket winning teams will receive season tickets to the 2025-26 Corban Women's Basketball regular season home games. In addition to the Alumni basketball tourney, Coach Frizell and her program will also be hosting a three-point shootout event, where individuals looking to show off their sharpshooting abilities can also signup using the same registration link.
