"We had a mixed bag of results today, some good results and some not as good as we initially hoped," explained Corban head coach Todd Bos. "No matter the results, we are always thankful to God for the opportunity to compete in the sport we love and learn from the experiences. Most of our student-athletes will now have a break and get back into their regular training. A few will continue to qualify for the national meet or continue preparations for it. Overall, I am pleased with our indoor season thus far and excited to see how we progress into the outdoor season in the next couple of weeks."
The lone competitor for the Navy and Gold today in Seattle was junior Braydon Lee attempting to qualify for the NAIA National Championships in the men's mile race, where he finished 83rd among the NCAA DI heavy field with a final time of 4:16.76, just five seconds off the national B-standard pace. He'll have at least one more opportunity to qualify in the coming days ahead of the national championships in March.
At day two of the Whitworth Invitational, ten new personal records were bested in various sprinting, hurdling, jumping, and throwing events at The Podium, along with six season best marks as the Navy and Gold continue to ramp up intensity with their competitive season only just starting. Those submitting personal bests today include: freshman Trent Bentz (men's 60m – 7.52), sophomore Abimael Salinas (men's 60m – 7.70), freshman Ava Barnett (women's 60m – 8.13), sophomore Aaden Ackley (men's 60m hurdles – 8.57), freshman Andrew Keena (men's 60m hurdles – 9.54), sophomore Josie Rothman (women's 800m – 2:27.57), freshman Stephen Crover (men's 3,000m – 10:31.73), redshirt junior Abigail Miller (women's 3,000m – 11:44.07), freshman Ethan Medyanik (men's high jump – 1.90m), and Kaitlyn Edmonds (women's shot put – 10.04m).
Redshirt senior Kayla Morgan had the season-best outing of the day for any Warrior, as she cleared 1.72m in the women's high jump to tie Evangel University's Delaney Miller for the third-highest leap in the nation to date in 2026. With today's mark, Morgan breaks her previous indoor high jump record of 1.71m and is still ramping up towards her outdoor record of 1.78m that she set last spring.
Bos will send a contingency of Warriors to the George Fox Indoor Two next Saturday in Newberg, hosted by NCAA DIII George Fox University at their Multi-Use Facility. Events will begin promptly at 10am.
