CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the McDonald's CCC Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for the competitions held between February 16th and 22nd, where the Corban University Baseball program netted their first individual award winner in over a year following one of the most dominant outings by a pitcher across the NAIA to date. Senior starting pitcher Robert Hays Jr. was selected as the CCC Pitcher of the Week after shutting down the Oregon Tech offense for the program's first shutout victory in nearly four years.

"A well-deserved award for Bo, as I told the team following his outing that we surely have an award winner amongst us come Monday," boasted Warriors' head coach Ryan Harris when he learned of Hays Jr's accomplishment. "He was outstanding to say the least. He worked incredibly hard to put himself in this position and absolutely delivered for us."
Needing a win to at least secure a split with a Hustlin' Owl squad that had just tied their best ten-game start to a season in program history, Hays Jr. came through with one of the most incredible performances by a Corban pitcher this decade, needing just 92 pitches to completely shutdown Tech's offense. In his third start of the year, Hayes Jr. closed out the complete game effort with three strikeouts and allowing just five baserunners all game long, two via hits, two via walks, and one via a fielding error. No Owl managed to reach third base the entire outing against Hays.
Set to host their second-straight home series next weekend, Hays Jr. and the Warriors will look to keep the winning streak alive when The College of Idaho (10-2, 2-1) visits Roto-Rooter Park for a four-game set beginning on Friday, February 27th at 2pm.
