CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the McDonald's CCC Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for the competitions held between February 2nd and 8th, where the Corban University Women's Track & Field team saw one of their veteran leaders selected to her fourth career Player of the Week honor and first of the 2026 competitive season. Redshirt senior Kayla Morgan was named this week's CCC Women's Field Athlete of the Week following her first A-standard of the year in the women's high jump at the Corban Indoor this past Saturday.

"Kayla had a great national qualifying mark in less than ideal jumping conditions," explained Corban head coach Todd Bos regarding Morgan's weekend. "She continues to perform at a high level, and we are always grateful she is a Warrior. Congratulations to her and her jumps coach, Coach Kelly, for their superb work this past weekend."
In typical Pacific Northwest weather conditions in mid-to-late winter, the Corban Indoor, hosted at the Outdoor Athletic Complex at the foot of campus, featured plenty of precipitation and wind despite counting for indoor events, providing student-athletes such as Morgan with an opportunity to not only hit national qualifying marks, but to do so in conditions much more difficult than their competition. On her third and final attempt after clearing her first two opening heights on her initial leap, Morgan soared over the 1.69m national A-standard mark to book her ticket to the 2026 NAIA National Indoor Championships, which will be hosted at the beginning of March in Gainesville, Florida. This is Morgan's first weekly award of the new season and fourth in her storied career.
Both the Warrior men's and women's track & field programs will be in action this upcoming weekend in two different Washington sites that will host a pair of two-day meets, as half the team will travel to the Whitworth Invitational in Spokane, while the rest will compete in Seattle at the Husky Classic.
