Twait Selected to Back-to-Back CSC Academic All-American Honors for Corban Men’s Wrestling

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization announced the 2025-26 Men's At-Large Academic All-American teams earlier this morning, where the Corban University Men's Wrestling program was represented by a program leader and two-time All-American for his effort's both on the mats and in the classroom that eventually led to the highest athletic and academic honors achievable by an NAIA student-athlete. Junior Isaiah Twait upgraded his 2024-25 award from a Second Team honor to a First Team selection today as announced by the CSC, representing one of five wrestlers nationally and two from the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) to earn the prestigious dual academic/athletic award.

The CSC Academic All-America program is nominated and voted on by members of the CSC, which are the Sports Information Directors/Director of Athletic Communications from every NAIA institution. Each school's nominees must have met the following criteria to be eligible for the awards: at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically and have maintained at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA through their most recently completed semester. For the NAIA, collegiate sports considered within the men's at-large category include competitive, cheer/dance, bowling, golf, lacrosse, volleyball, and wrestling. Each sport consists of varying competition requirements for their respective seasons, which can be found in depth on the CSC website by clicking HERE.

Twait joins Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Daniil Gorshkov as the lone CCC award winners this year, who earned Second Team honors to Twait's First Team selection. Two more NAIA men's wrestlers joined Twait on the First Team list, represented by Doane University's Tyson Beauperthuy and Indiana Tech's Jonathan Kervin. Twait sports the fifth highest cumulative GPA among the ten First Team award winners, as he holds a 3.94 GPA as a biology major in the STEM field at Corban.

This award marks the second-straight CSC Academic All-American honor for Twait after earning a Second Team designation in 2024-25, where he became the first Warrior to earn the Academic All-American title in program history. He has earned CSC Academic All-District, NAIA Scholar-Athlete, and CCC Academic All-Conference honors in both years of eligibility to date.

The Meridian, Idaho native secured his second All-American accolade this past winter thanks to a fourth place finish at the NAIA National Championships, improving upon his sixth place finish in 2024-25. Entering his senior season this upcoming school year, Twait represents a strong favorite at the 184lb weight class to contend for both a conference and national championship.

"We're incredibly proud of Isaiah for being recognized for his hard work on the mat and in the classroom," expressed Warriors' head coach Nolan Harris. "He is a testament to what is possible with diligence to following the Lord, organization, and prioritizing his time accordingly. He embodies what is meant by a program tagline of 'live right', and honors such as these indicate what a great ambassador that he is for Warrior Wrestling and the entire Corban University community."
