Moussa Scores Warriors' Lone Goal Versus Owls

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.
– Junior Ayouba Moussa (Maradi, Niger) scored the Warriors' lone goal in the 83rd minute, but it was not enough as Corban's men's soccer team fell to the Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Tech, 4-1, Saturday night at Steen Sports Park.

After nearly 42 scoreless minutes, Oregon Tech tallied a pair of goals before half time with Jory Lum beginning the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 42nd minute before Devin Torrey teamed with Sam Holcomb less than two minutes later for the Owls' 2-0 lead at intermission.

Oregon Tech added to its lead in the 53rd minute when Ian Van Der Zwan took a pass from Dylan Durrell and found the back of the net for the Owls' third goal of the night.

Moussa's unassisted goal came in the game's final ten minutes, as the fleet-footed forward notched his team-leading third goal of the season. In just over three seasons in a Warrior uniform, Moussa has scored 11 goals in 26 games.

Less than one minute after Moussa's goal cut the Warriors' deficit to two goals, OIT tallied its fourth goal of the night when Hector Jimenez scored an unassisted goal in the 84th minute for the final score of 4-1.

Senior goalkeeper Aaron Franklin (Red Bluff, Calif.) registered a game-high three saves for Corban, while Oregon Tech platooned its net-minders between Tommy Burden and Skyler Holt. Burden played the opening half and recorded two saves, while Holt stood between the pipes for the final half and registered one save.

With the loss, Corban falls to 1-5-1 overall and 0-4 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Meanwhile, Oregon Tech improves to 4-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in CCC action. The Warriors will return to the field on Tuesday, September 29th, when they host the nationally-ranked Cavaliers of Concordia beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Warrior Field.
