SIMPSON 8, CORBAN 1

In the tournament opener for the Warriors, Simpson scored eight unanswered runs before Corban got on the board in the sixth inning.

The Warriors' next-to-last at-bat began with a walk by freshman Nicole Sikes (San Diego, Calif.) before fellowing freshman Stephanie Nippert (Rocklin, Calif.) reached on a fielder's choice that got Sikes out at second. The very next batter – Fitzgerald – doubled to right field putting runners at second and third with one out. Senior Rachel Kazmierski (Eugene, Ore.) stepped to the plate and drove home the Warriors' lone run of the morning with a ground out to short that allowed Nippert to score.

Sophomore Brittany Wagner (Oregon City, Ore.) went the distance for Corban in the circle allowing eight runs (six earned) on 11 hits to go along with a pair of strikeouts.

CORBAN 10, WILLIAM JESSUP 3

In the Warriors' second game of the day, Corban put nine unanswered runs on the board over the first two innings highlighted by a Sikes' two-run home run in the top of the first that scored Franke.

Corban's five-run second inning was highlighted by back-to-back run-scoring triples by Franke and Fitzgerald that came on the heels on a RBI double to left by Jones and a RBI ground out by DeHart.

The third inning would see William Jessup answer with three runs before Corban shut the door thanks to a sacrifice fly by senior Jessica Schell (Portland, Ore.) for the game's final run.

Marchbanks went the distance for Corban allowing three runs (all unearned) on three hits to go along with four strikeouts.

CORBAN 16, MENLO 8 (5 INNINGS)

In the finale, Corban scored in each of its at-bats platting two runs in the first, five in the second, five in the third, and four more in the fourth. Despite a seven-run fourth inning by Menlo, a 21-hit output by the Warriors concluded the day with a 2-1 record.

The first inning would see back-to-back run-scoring doubles by DeHart and Franke before Corban put five runs on the board in its next at-bat thanks to a pair of RBI doubles by DeHart and Kazmierski.

With an six-run lead (7-1) heading into the third inning, Corban scored another five runs thanks to a Fitzgerald RBI double, a two-run DeHart infield single, and a pair of pass balls.

Fortunately for the Warriors, an 11-run lead was very timely as Menlo plated seven runs in the fourth on six hits to cut Corban's lead to a mere four runs.

In its final at-bat, Corban got four more runs for the final tally of 16-8 with the highlight coming off the bat of Fitzgerald via a two-run double to center field.
