Nate Hiebert (Lebanon, Ore.) went a combined 4-for-8 at the plate, but it was not enough as Corban's baseball team dropped a conference double header to rival Concordia, 8-2 & 2-0, Tuesday at Volcanoes Stadium.

GAME #1 – CONCORDIA 8, CORBAN 2
In the opener, Corban grabbed a one-run lead after the first inning when Hiebert led off with a double to left center before advancing on a fly out by Blum before coming home on a pass ball during the Warriors' next at-bat.
Concordia would take the lead for good in the top of the fourth inning when Danny Brown roped a two-run double down the left field line, as the visiting Cavaliers took a one-run lead (2-1).
In the top of the eighth inning, Concordia blew the game wide open putting six runs on the board with the highlights coming off the bats of Odie Hollingshed and Curt Cosby via a pair of two-run doubled down the left field line as the Cavaliers grabbed a seven-run lead (8-1).
Corban would put its second and final run on the board in the bottom of the eighth inning when Taylor singled through the left side to lead off the inning before coming around to score on Winsor's RBI double down the left field line that capped the scoring at 8-2.
Junior
Tyler Doornink (Yakima, Wash.) went the opening 4.0 innings for Corban allowing two earned runs on four hits before turning the ball over to a pair of relievers – senior
Chris Trammell (Salem, Ore.) and Winsor – for the final 5.0 innings of work.
Concordia was led offensively by Tommy Whalen with a 3-for-5 effort, while Brown drove in a game-high three runs. Josh O'Gorman went the distance for the Cavaliers allowing a pair of unearned runs on eight hits with a game-high six strikeouts.
GAME #2 – CONCORDIA 2, CORBAN 0
The finale would see Concordia score single runs in the first and seventh innings, as the visiting Cavaliers got run-scoring hits from Whalen via a single through the left side in the first inning followed by a Hollingshed single through the left side six innings later.
Corban would put runners in scoring position in the first, second, and fifth innings with Hiebert coming the closest to scoring when he was stranded at third in the opening inning.
The host Warriors would get hits from four different players – Hiebert, Blum, Fritz, and Winsor – in Game #2, while junior
Nick Stiltner (Eugene, Ore.) went the opening 4.1 innings allowing one earned run on three hits before turning the ball over to Hiebert for the game's final 2.2 innings.
Concordia would get a team-leading 3-for-4 performance from Hollingshed, while Brett Ferguson went the distance for the Cavs allowing a mere four hits with a game-high tying four strikeouts.
With today's results, Corban falls to 9-31 overall and 4-17 in NAIA West play. Meanwhile, Concordia snaps its eight-game losing streak improving to 12-29 overall and 6-22 in league games. The Warriors will return to the field on Thursday, April 21st, against the NAIA's No. 18-ranked Lewis-Clark State beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Harris Field.
