BOX SCORE

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Three different players scored for Corban's men's soccer team, as the Warriors shut out Oregon Tech for the second time this season, 3-0, Wednesday at Trevor Derrah Field to remain in the Cascade Collegiate Conference playoff picture with two games remaining.

With today's win, Corban improves to 7-6-3 overall and 6-5-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Meanwhile, Oregon Tech falls to 1-13-1 overall and 0-10-1 in conference games.

Today's win coupled with a loss by Warner Pacific against Evergreen vaulted Corban into third place in the current conference standings with 19 points, as the Warriors are one point ahead of Northwest with the Eagles trailing conference-leading Concordia at the time of publication.

"The back four were very solid and we scored three quality goals, which is always a good combination," said head coach Paul Meehan. "There are still some areas where we need to be sharper, but over all I'm pleased to get a win on the road."

Sophomore Arsinio Walker would put the Warriors up in the ninth minute off an assist from senior Aaron Kinnes, as Walker received a long chip behind OIT's defense before beating the Owls' keeper for the eventual game-winning goal at the 8:55 mark. Walker's team-leading fifth goal of the season would give Corban a 1-0 lead that would also result in the first game-winning goal of his career as a Warrior.

Less than 18 minutes later, Kinnes would add an insurance goal in the 26th minute when he took a couple dribbles to get away from Oregon Tech's defense before unleashing a shot from 20 yards out into the upper right corner for his third goal of the season giving Corban a 2-0 lead at the 25:36 mark.

The visiting Warriors would continue to hold their two-goal advantage until the 90th minute when sophomore Josh Hamilton teamed with senior Tyler Hagen for his third goal of the season with 18 seconds remaining on the clock. Hamilton would take a crossing pass from Hagen before chipping the ball over OIT's keeper from five yards out for the final score of 3-0 in favor of Corban.

Sophomore Steven Mason would play all 90 minutes for Corban between the pipes registering three saves en route to picking up his fourth shutout of the season, while Oregon Tech's Loren Jessen tallied a game-high four saves despite allowing all three goals.

Offensively, Corban would register nine more shots (21-to-12) than Oregon Tech that included a 7-to-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Warriors would also earn four more corner kicks (7-to-3) than OIT, while both teams were whistled for eight fouls.

Corban will return to action on Saturday, October 27th, against the Knights of Warner Pacific beginning at noon at David Douglas High School in Portland. The winner of the Corban-Warner Pacific game will be in the driver's seat for one of the two final playoff spots in this year's CCC Postseason Tournament.
