Shannon Lauret would end SXU's scoring in its opening at-bat with a two-run double down the left field line that scored Ashley Sullivan and Mollahan to give the Cougars a four-run lead (4-0).
In the bottom of the first inning, Chesnut registered a one-out single to shortstop before Castronovo blasted her 15th home run of the season via a two-run bomb over the center field fence to pull the Warriors within two runs (4-2).
Unfortunately that would be as close as Corban would get, as Saint Xavier scored six unanswered runs over the final four innings highlighted by a pair of run-scoring doubles by Mollahan in the second and fifth innings.
With today's win, Saint Xavier moves onto the NAIA Softball Championships final site on May 24-30 in Columbus, Georgia.
Meanwhile, Corban's season comes to an end with the Warriors setting single-season records in total wins (43), Cascade Collegiate Conference victories (24), and fewest conference losses (4).
