Corban had a chance to get on the board in the bottom of the first inning when senior
Rachel Conard flew out to center field only to have C of I's outfielder throw Nippert out at home attempting to score the game's opening run.
In the top of the third inning, The College of Idaho would break the scoreless tie going ahead by a single run (1-0) when Macias laced a run-scoring single to left field that allowed Mills to score after she reached on a fielder's choice one batter earlier.
Two innings later, Mills would provide the much-needed insurance run when she belted a leadoff home run over the left field fence to give the visiting Lady Yotes a two-run lead (2-0).
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Corban would finally get on the board thanks to an infield single by Chestnut that allowed Sandhop to score pulling the Warriors within a single run (2-1). Corban would not quit there, as the Warriors loaded the bases on an infield single by Castronovo with one out only to have Nippert thrown out at home once again on a groundout to first base that kept C of I with a one-run lead.
Corban would not threathen for the remainder of the game, as C of I's pitching and defense stepped up to the challenge holding the Warriors without a base runner past first base over the final two inning.
The College of Idaho advanced in the winner's bracket to take on Oregon Tech, while Corban moves to the loser's bracket later today against No. 19-ranked Concordia beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Warrior Field in Salem.
