BOX SCORE PORTLAND, Ore. – Four Corban University players scored in double figures in a Cascade Collegiate Conference victory at Warner Pacific College, 71-58.
Julia Young made all seven of her attempts from the foul line and paced the Warriors (13-16, 8-9 CCC) with 16 points. Tara Vanweerdhuizen issued a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
Jade Lowery flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
Sadie Pilgeram delivered 10 points for the victors.
Corban never trailed in the ballgame taking the lead for good with 12 minutes remaining in the opening half, 15-12, on a Lowery 3-pointer. Leading 32-25 at intermission the Warriors were never seriously threatened in the second period.
Corban shot 33 percent (20-61) from the field and made 26-of-32 from the line. Warner Pacific also made 33 percent (19-58) from the floor, but was unable to get to the charity stripe as often connecting on 18-of-23. The Knights (6-21, 2-14 CCC) did not have a player score in double figures.
The Warriors conclude the regular season at home on Saturday against Northwest Christian College at 5:30 pm.
