Bejaran Slugs Two Homers in Softball Victory

BOX SCORE

HAPPY VALLEY – Breonna Bejaran slugged two home runs and drove in five runs Wednesday afternoon to lead Corban to a 10-2, six-inning softball victory over Northwest Christian at Hood View Park.

The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was suspended by heavy rain after five innings with the Warriors holding a 7-1 lead. That contest will be completed when Corban and Northwest Christian play a doubleheader next Monday in Eugene.

The home runs were the second and third for Bejaran in Corban's two games. She opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-run blast following a leadoff double by Annie Owen. The next round-tripper came in the third and scored Shelby Mauermann, who reached on a single, and Aubrene Blas, who walked.

Corban collected 12 hits in the game, including a 4-for-4 performance by Kyrianna Sorensen. She drove in a run with a single in the third and ended the game via the run rule in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run double.

Jessica Holsinger earned the victory in the circle, limiting Northwest Christian to five hits while striking out eight.

The Beacons scored their first run in the fifth when Laynee Bevans reached on a walk, stole second and came home on a single by Addy Hoskins. Parker Bonife led off the sixth with a homer for the other run.

Corban is back in action this Friday and Saturday, playing a pair of games against Simpson and William Jessup in Redding, Calif.
