AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Monday that Corban University softball standout Jessie Isham has been named a 2019 NAIA Second-Team Google Cloud Academic All-American.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America program seeks to honor the NAIA's elite academic and athletic performers, voted upon based on a student-athlete's efforts in both arenas. The prestigious honor adds yet another accolade to Isham's historic career with the Navy and Gold.

"Jessie has worked so hard for all of her accomplishments on the field and in the classroom," said head coach Abigail Farler. "This is a tremendous honor and well-deserved. All of us are very proud of everything Jessie has accomplished this year!"
Isham, who recently signed a professional contract to continue her playing career in the Netherlands, turned in a tremendous senior campaign this spring. The hometown product batted a conference-best .456 in 52 games, crushing nine home runs and driving in 53 runs. One of the most dangerous bats in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) and the entire NAIA, her incredible numbers earned her First-Team All-CCC plaudits for the third-consecutive year.
She accomplished all of this while maintaining a 3.76 GPA, graduating with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. In addition, Isham received Academic All-Conference and NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition for her efforts in the classroom.
During her three-year career with Corban, Isham's has been named the CCC Newcomer of the Year (2017), a CCC Gold-Glover (2018), a three-time First-Team All-Conference honoree (2017-19), an NAIA All-American (2017), and now an Academic All-American. She joins Joel Johnson of Corban men's basketball as the only other member of the university to claim the award to this point of the 2018-19 season.
