"Corban softball has a spirit about them that cannot be matched!" said Huber. "This fall the girls showed that they have big goals and even bigger heart and determination to accomplish those goals.
The Warriors' season will begin in Honolulu, Hawaii where they will be competing against Chaminade University and Hawaii Pacific University on January 31 and February 1. The season opener will be followed by a trip down to Northern California, where the squad will battle William Jessup University and Menlo College. That short trip will serve as a valuable tune-up for the Navy and Gold ahead of a rigorous Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) slate.
The squad is scheduled to start CCC play against Carroll College in Helena, Mont. on February 25-26. The road trip will be followed by the Warrior's first home series will be held on March 4-5, when the Navy and Gold will host the Yotes of College of Idaho, who finished in third-place in the NAIA National Tournament last spring. Corban will then head north to face off against Warner Pacific and Northwest University.
In the midst of the always-challenging CCC regiment, the Warriors will play two NCAA opponents. The first will be Clackamas Community College—which will take place at home on March 7—while the second will be NCAA Division I Portland State University on March 16.
The Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Tech—who finished second in the NAIA National Tournament—will make the trek to Warrior Field on March 25-26. Following the home series, Corban will meet Providence, Bushnell, Eastern Oregon, and the University of British Columbia before rounding out the season in Ashland. The Warriors will look to upset the reigning National Champions in the last conference series of the season.
The CCC Tournament will take place on May 6-8, and will determine the second team receiving an automatic bid to the NAIA Opening Round on May 16-18. The other CCC automatic bid will go to the team that wins the conference regular-season title.
"We are looking forward to seeing the Warriors in action come spring, Huber added. "Corban softball is a force to be reckoned with."
The Navy and Gold will look to return to the NAIA Opening Round under new leadership, with a wealth of experience, and fresh talent.
