CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – After proving themselves to be some of the Cascade Collegiate Conference's (CCC) top runners, Corban University cross country stars Gracie Long and Robert Swoboda will now have the opportunity to test their mettle against the NAIA's best in the upcoming National Championships on Friday.

Both harriers were at their best at the recent CCC Championships, and each member of the tandem feels capable of reaching a new peak in Friday's race.

Long turned in a monumental performance at the conference meet, breaking the school record in the 5K with her time of 18:00 flat. She finished 10^th overall at the race, earning All-Conference merits for the first time in her career.

On the other hand, Swoboda has been a perennial All-CCC award-winner, with his most recent performance at the conference meet (25:00, 6^th place) marking the third All-Conference accolade of his decorated career in the Navy and Gold. Friday will be Swoboda's third appearance on the NAIA's biggest stage, and the veteran harrier feels primed and ready to turn in his best effort in the season finale.

The duo will join a slew of familiar foes from across the CCC at the national meet. Arguably the most talented conference in the NAIA, the CCC boasts four nationally-ranked squads—No. 2 College of Idaho, No. 9 Lewis-Clark State, No. 12 Oregon Tech, and No. 22 Northwest—on the women's side, and four more—No. 8 LC State, No. 13 OIT, No. 15 C of I, and No. 18 Northwest—for the men.

Both Swoboda and Long are as talented as any harrier in the conference, however, and if they run as well as they have proven themselves capable, they each possess the ability to make waves at Friday's event.

The races will each take place at the Seminole Valley Cross Country Course in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with the women's 5K race slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. PT, and the men's 8K scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. PT.
