CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) announced the 2023 Men's Soccer All-Conference teams and individual award winners early on Thursday morning, where the Corban University Men's Soccer squad saw their leading offensive player of the year for the program earn his first all-conference recognition of his career. Redshirt sophomore forward Irwin Leon was named to the Second Team All-Conference honors for his lighting quick abilities that played out on the field this season and provided the Warriors with numerous scoring plays and even more opportunities.

"Irwin was a constant attacking threat for us all season," head coach Corbin Bowers shared when asked to discuss his leading goal scorer. "He was electric in the final third and I'm so proud of what he accomplished this year. It's a testament to his hard work in the offseason and his teammates knowing how to get the best out of him."
Asking to step up and be one of only three Warriors to start in every contest this season is not an easy task, yet Leon had no troubles handling the rest of the conference offensively in his first varsity year since signing back in 2021 with the program. Eight goals and six assists later, which are both the team-high marks for this year, Leon finished in the top ten for virtually every offensive category within the CCC, including a ninth overall ranking in points per game (1.29.) He scored or assisted on 14 different goals this season, which is responsible for nearly half of the total offensive output in the 2023 season for a Warrior squad that scored 29 total goals.
In addition to his success on the field, Leon is now a two-time Academic All-Conference team member for his achievements in the classroom, and will be eligible this season to receive both Academic All-District and All-American awards should he be selected from the qualified nominees.
Leon is one of multiple Warrior starters who will be returning to the squad in the 2024 season, as Coach Bowers looks to introduce his first full-time recruiting class to Salem and continue adding and modernizing the Corban men's soccer legacy.
