Corban Track & Field Excels at L&C

PORTLAND, Ore. – Corban University track and field sent 11 athletes to compete at the L&C Larry Byerly Invite in various distance races and a handful of jumping events.

RESULTS

Head coach Todd Bos said, "The distance crew and a couple of jumpers made the most of the nice weather today. Many PR's, five top-ten performances, and three more conference qualifying marks were attained today."

The Warriors had two women compete in the 10000m race, each collecting new personal records led by a fifth-place finish by Judah Koehler (42:02.01, No. 10 all-time). Lindsay Janzer beat her personal record by over a minute with her 46:47.58 finish (12th place).

Zander Moha (4:00.78, No. 4 all-time), Forrest Cooley (4:07.58), and Noah Andres (4:27.69) all competed in the men's 1500m race. Moha finished 21st out of 95 participants and Andres set a personal record.

In the women's 1500m, Samantha Dara had a strong showing with 4:49.50 (No. 6 all-time), leading to a new personal record for the junior. Anne Morud also competed and recorded a time of 5:31.01.

Personal records continued to be set for the Navy and Gold in the women's 800m, with Rosemary Hosie (2:42.97) and Olivia McFall (2:43.14) both breaking their best times.

In the jumping events, Will Maupin tied his personal record in the high jump with a 5-08.50 leap for a ninth-place finish. Carter Knox fell just shy of his personal record with a 5-06.50 jump.

Both Maupin and Knox crushed their personal records in the long jump with Maupin finishing seventh (20-01.00, No. 9 all-time). Knox's leap was close to a foot longer than his previous record as he jumped 20-00.50 to an eighth-place finish (No. 10 all-time).

In anticipation of their next meet, Bos continued "We pray for nice weather next week as the entire team heads down to Ashland for the two-day Raider Invite hoping to add more conference qualifying marks and PR's. We are excited to see what the next couple of weeks hold!"

The Warriors will look to build on the multiple personal records that were set today when they head down to meet up with a handful of Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) foes at the Raider Invitational next week hosted by Southern Oregon University, on April 21- 22, at Raider Stadium.
