SALEM, Ore. – The first recruiting class under newly hired Corban University Men's Soccer head coach Josh Rios Noonkester was announced this morning by the Warrior alum, as eighteen brand new student-athletes will be donning the navy and gold jerseys this upcoming fall season. Two-thirds of this year's recruiting class will consist of transfer student-athletes with various levels of experience from the NCAA and junior college levels, while the remaining third will be represented by true freshmen embarking on their collegiate careers. Coach Noonkester's newly signed recruiting class contains student-athletes from all over the world, stretching from both the west and east coasts of the United States all the way to southeastern Australia.
"Our coaching staff is very excited for this year's incoming class and the impact they will make on and off the field," shared Coach Noonkester regarding his inaugural recruiting class of Warriors. "We are bringing in players who are hungry to grow in all areas during their time at Corban. With the talent we're bringing in, the depth within our program is much improved, and we're looking forward to the healthy competition that our program needs to contend within the CCC."

Rodrigo Bonilla | Forward | 6-2 | 185 lbs | Junior | Fort Lauderdale, Fla. | Spanish River Community HS/Whatcom CC
With a majority of his development coming from the club level prior to playing out his first two collegiate seasons at Whatcom Community College, Bonilla was a staple in the FC Boca Predators club for a number of years. With Bonilla leading the scoring charge, the Predators were three-time FYSA league and cup champions, Weston Cup, Extreme Cup, and Vero Beach champions, in addition to playing internationally in both Argentina and Columbia. He was the top goal scorer for the club back-to-back seasons, netting 23 and 27 goals with six and nine assists, respectively.
Bonilla will be pursuing a business administration degree with an emphasis in sports management, as he has a variety of careers in mind that include coaching, personal training, and strength/conditioning.
Santiago Castano | Midfielder | 5-7 | 155 lbs | Junior | Bogota, Columbia | Indian Land HS/Newberry College
Another NCAA DII transfer for Coach Noonkester, Castano played in nearly every contest for Newberry College over the 2022 and 2023 fall seasons, starting in 11 games and tallying nearly 1,200 minutes on the pitch. Prior to the beginning of his college soccer career, he was an All-Region and First Team All-State honoree for Indian Land High School where he scored 14 goals and secured 22 assists during his senior season.
With aspirations of one day becoming an athletic director, Castano will be studying sports management in the pursuit of a business administration degree.
Hector Castillo | Defender | 6-0 | 165 lbs | Junior | Milton-Freewater, Ore. | McLoughlin HS/Walla Walla CC
Castillo is back in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after spending his previous year of competition at Walla Walla Community College and having spent his freshman season with the Mountaineers at Eastern Oregon University, thus already understanding the high level of play within the NAIA. On the defensive line for Walla Walla, Castillo started 21 of 23 games played in 2022 and was involved in 11 different shutouts for the Warriors, going 16-4-3 in the same span. He earned Honorable Mention All-NWAC honors, a Defensive Player of the Week nod, and the program finished as the NWAC runner-up to conclude the 2022 season.
He plans to take the necessary classes needed to graduate with a pre-physical therapy major and pursue graduate school studies.
Rolando Castillo | Defender | 5-11 | 175 lbs | Redshirt Junior | Milton-Freewater, Ore. | McLoughlin HS/Blue Mountain CC
Another CCC opponent turned Warrior, Castillo joins Corban after using his redshirt season at Eastern Oregon University followed by two successful years at Blue Mountain Community College where he started in 30 of 37 games played as the program's center back. Despite playing back on the defensive line, Castillo scored a goal and assisted on six more while leading the Timberwolves to ten separate shutouts and back-to-back NWAC playoff appearances over the 2022 and 2023 seasons. As a junior at McLoughlin High School, he was named a Second Team All-League selection before kicking off his collegiate soccer career.
With dreams of one day becoming a physical therapist, Castillo will be joining the Warriors' kinesiology program to secure a bachelor's degree.
Eli Donaho | Midfielder | 6-0 | 170 lbs | Graduate Student | Houston, Texas | J. Frank Dobie HS/Colorado Christian Univ.
After a successful four-year career at NCAA DII Colorado Christian University, Donaho will spend his final season of eligibility boosting the Warriors' midfield on the west coast. In 2020, he was named a Second Team All-Conference honoree within the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference after playing nearly 700 minutes in just ten games. He's played in 38 contests and started in 28 of them, as the Cougar program went 29-23-11 overall in his four years with the team. At J. Frank Dobie High School, Donaho was 50-3-5 in four seasons and was named to the All-Region team in 2019 and All-State team in 2020.
Hoping to one day become a registered nurse, Donaho will be utilizing his final season of eligibility to secure a master's degree in business administration.
David Montano | Midfielder | 5-10 | 165 lbs | Junior | Bogota, Columbia | Instituto Studium/Marshalltown CC
Playing in 21 contests and starting in nearly half of them for Marshalltown Community College over the past two seasons, Montano arrives on the west coast looking to cement his name among the Warriors' successful midfield unit. He scored the game winning goal against Iowa Western Community College in the fall of 2022 and holds a career shot on goal percentage of 48.6%.
Montano will be pursuing a degree in business administration during the upcoming 2024-25 academic year.
Joseph Nunez | Midfielder | 5-8 | 148 lbs | Redshirt Sophomore | Corvallis, Ore. | Corvallis HS/Chemeketa CC
Back with the Warrior men's soccer program after spending his sophomore year at Chemeketa Community College and earning Honor Roll recognition, Nunez returns to the Navy and Gold looking to improve their play in the middle of the field. Originally, he was a 2021 recruit for Corban after playing four seasons of both boys' soccer and track & field for Corvallis High School. In 2018, Nunez and his teammates played until the final day of the fall season and came away Oregon State Champions.
Nunez will be studying kinesiology entering his second stint with the Warriors.
Jason Pineda | Defender | 6-1 | 185 lbs | Junior | El Monte, Calif. | Mountain View HS/Rio Hondo College
A defensive staple for Roadrunners of Rio Hondo College, Pineda started in 25 of 30 games played between the 2021 and 2022 fall seasons and finished his community college career 14-10-6 overall. The Roadrunners were the north division regular season champions after finishing 5-3-1 in conference play during the 2022 season and eventually claimed a South Coast Conference fourth place trophy. Prior to attending Rio Hondo, he was a three-time First Team All-League honoree for Mountain View High School, where he also secured two league championships, an All-Region award, and two-time All-State recognition.
Pineda will be joining Corban's well-established accounting program and hope to complete his degree in business administration.
Jesus Pulido | Defender | 5-11 | 165 lbs | Junior | Corvallis, Ore. | Corvallis HS/Chemeketa CC
Pulido is all too familiar with the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) after spending a year at the University of Providence in 2022, earning Honorable Mention All-Conference honors after starting all 13 contests for the Argos and tallying nearly 1,000 minutes on the pitch. This past season, he played in 15 games right down the road from Corban's campus for the Storm at Chemeketa Community College, starting in 14 of said contests. Prior to the beginning of his collegiate career, Pulido was a 5A First Team All-State selection, Mid-Willamette Valley Conference Player of the Year, a First Team All-Conference honoree, and was a state finalist with Corvallis High School in 2021.
Pulido will continue the pursuit of a bachelor's degree in accounting as he rejoins the NAIA.
Amir Roque | Midfielder/Defender | 5-5 | 133 lbs | Junior | Santa Cruz, Calif. | Soquel HS/Wheeling Univ.
After playing two seasons at the NCAA DII level for Wheeling University, Roque arrives at Corban with a handful of collegiate contests under his belt and looks to add more honors to his trophy case. As a four-year varsity starter for Soquel High School, he started every game for his alma mater and was named Team Captain after securing First Team All-Conference honors and leading the program in assists.
Roque plans to enroll in the Warriors' new nursing program this upcoming fall in order to one day become a traveling doctor.
Grady Thurman | Midfielder/Defender | 5-9 | 155 lbs | Senior | Creswell, Ore. | South Eugene HS/Northwest Nazarene Univ.
With over 1,600 minutes played at the NCAA DII level for Northwest Nazarene University, Thurman has the viability to fill a number of gaps left by the Warriors' 2024 graduating class. He played in 35 contests, starting in 24 of them for the Nighthawks, over his three years of action prior to transferring into Corban. At the high school level, Thurman was a three-time First Team All-League selection for South Eugene out of the 6A Southwest Conference.
Expecting to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration, Thurman hopes to one day become an electrician after completing his collegiate career.
Alejandro Villarreal | Midfielder/Goalkeeper | 5-8 | 150 lbs | Senior | Salem, Ore. | McNary HS/Western Oregon Univ.
Entering his senior season of eligibility, Villarreal anticipates serving in a variety of roles for the Warriors after playing between the posts at the community college level and in the midfield for NCAA DII Western Oregon University. He was an NWAC All-Star and First Team All-Region goalkeeper for Chemeketa prior to transferring to the DII level, posting a 1.81 goals against average with only seven goals allowed on the season en route to a Southern Region Championship. Villarreal also holds the record for most shutouts in a single season for the McNary High School program where they reached the playoffs in each of his four seasons played.
He will enter the Master of Business Administration program at Corban after graduating from Western Oregon with his bachelor's degree magna cum laude.
Jorge Avila | Defender/Midfielder | 5-8 | 155 lbs | Freshman | Salinas, Calif. | Salinas HS
A four-year varsity letterman with Salinas High School and where he served as the captain for the program the past two seasons, Avila was a First Team All-District selection from the Pacific Coast Athletic League and was later named a Monterey County All-Star. In addition, Salinas has played for a number of competitive club teams, including the San Jose Earthquakes Academy, SVSA MLS Next U15-17, and Bay Area Surf MLS Next U19.
He will begin his collegiate career studying kinesiology as a Warrior.
Alexander Guindy | Forward/Defender | 6-1 | 170 lbs | Freshman | San Jose, Calif. | The King's Academy
A familiar name to members of the Corban volleyball program, Guindy's older sister Abby currently serves as the starting setter for the Warriors but will look to make his own mark on the men's soccer program as a true freshman. In two seasons on the varsity boys' soccer team at The King's Academy, he was named the runner-up for Conference Forward of the Year after leading the league in scoring and points, which also both ranked top three regionally and earned him First Team All-County recognition. He was also named a top ten forward in the entirety of the San Francisco Bay area.
Guindy will be studying business management with a concentration in marketing during his freshman campaign.
Jose Guzman | Forward/Midfielder | 5-10 | 170 lbs | Freshman | Woodburn, Ore. | Woodburn HS
Moving south down the Willamette Valley to join the Warriors, Guzman boasts a handful of accomplishments and recognition from representing Woodburn High School, including a First Team All-State nod from the 2023 fall season after scoring 17 goals and assisting on eight more for the Bulldogs. He earned back-to-back First Team All-League honors from the Mid-Willamette Conference in both 2023 and 2022, and was named a Second Team All-League member during his sophomore season.
Guzman will begin secondary education undecided on a career and major but will utilize his true freshman season to plan for his post collegiate profession.
Frank Kilongo | Forward/Defender | 5-4 | 178 lbs | Freshman | Salem, Ore. | South Salem HS
The only Salem born and raised recruit from this year's class to sign with the Warriors for their freshman season, Kilongo's experience from both the South Salem High School and Capital FC Academy programs have provided him with the talent needed to join the Corban men's soccer program as a true freshman. In 2021, the Saxons finished third overall at the 6A OSAA state tournament, which eventually led to a First Team All-League selection for Kilongo from the Central Valley Conference during his 2022 season after scoring nine goals and assisting on eight more.
A degree in business administration with specific concentration in sports management is what Kilongo will begin working towards during his first collegiate season.
Zachary Milczarek | Forward | 6-0 | 145 lbs | Freshman | Canberra, Australia | Daramalan College
An international signee straight from the capital city of Australia, Milczarek has been competing for Canberra Olympic FC from the age of twelve and spent the past four years competing for Daramalan College. He scored 44 goals over 57 games for the program, with the team qualifying as tournament finalists in both 2023 and 2022 after finishing second and fourth in league play, respectively. He was awarded the Angelo Liangis Scholarship in 2022 for his development potential in men's soccer, along with the Players' Player Award in 2021 and 2019.
Milczarek's plan is to study towards a degree in accounting this upcoming fall term.
Josiah Solorzano | Midfielder | 5-10 | 150 lbs | Freshman | Barstow, Calif. | South Salem HS
A California native that graduated locally from South Salem High School, Solorzano represents one of two Salem graduates to stay within the state capital city limits and garner the navy and gold uniform. He was a First Team All-League selection for the Saxons this past year and an Elite Academy All-Star on two separate occasions, in addition to being a state tournament semifinalist for North Salem High School during his sophomore season.
Hopeful to one day become an orthodontist, Solorzano will be joining Corban's biomedical science program as a true freshman this upcoming school year.
