Harris Announces Thirty-Five Man Recruiting Class for Corban Baseball

SALEM, Ore. – Corban University Baseball head coach Ryan Harris has been hard at work assembling a recruiting class fit to contribute an immediate impact on the field this spring. This standout group is led by a strong pitching presence, with twenty-three of the newcomers bringing valuable arms to reinforce the team's mound depth. Comprised of twelve freshmen and twenty-three transfers, this recruiting class blends raw talent, versatility, and high potential, all aimed at strengthening the Warrior baseball program and driving future success.

"We've brought in thirty-five new players this off season and these guys just bought in from the moment they got here," detailed Coach Harris. "They took this foundation of expectations and brought it to life and created a culture. This team of fifty-four is the best 'team' I've been a part of. They love one another, and they complement each other in a lot of areas on the field and off. I'm proud of them and I have a tremendous amount of joy in having the opportunity to lead them."

Josh Allen | 6-0 | Outfielder/Pitcher | Freshman | Keizer, Ore. | McNary HS

Allen brings impressive athleticism to the Warrior roster having played two sports in high school. He secured a .350 batting average with two home runs in his senior year of high school baseball. During his two years of football, Allen received All-League honorable mention as a tight end and a linebacker.

Allen is pursuing a degree in physical education with plans of becoming a teacher after graduation.

 

Ethan Ammerman | 5-5 | Infielder | Redshirt Sophomore | Richland, Wash. | Richland HS | Milligan Univ.

Ammerman transfers to Corban as the only infielder in this recruiting class with collegiate experience and three years of eligibility. He was a two-time dean's list student-athlete while at Milligan. In high school, Ammerman was named a Second Team All-Conference second baseman, with a .345 batting average, 21 RBI, and 6 doubles. Along side four years of baseball, he was a two-year letter winner for swim.

Ammerman will continue to study for a degree in computer science.

 

Isaac Bateman | 6-0 | Shortstop/Pitcher | Junior | Herriman, Utah | Mountain Ridge HS | Treasure Valley CC

A junior transfer with plenty of college experience under his belt, Bateman enters the Navy and Gold after batting .300 in his most recent season. He also earned NWAC East Region Second Team as a shortstop.

Bateman plans to continue studying accounting during his time at Corban.

 

Silas Berschauer | 6-0 | Utility | Freshman | Bellingham, Wash. | Meridian HS

Berschauer arrives to Warrior baseball after a phenomenal high school career. In his final year at Meridian, Berschauer earned First Team All-State honors and led his team to a runner-up finish at the State tournament. Berschauer ended the season with a .351 batting average and three homeruns. He also received a Second Team All-Conference award his sophomore year.

With hopes of becoming a physical therapist, Berschauer will obtain a degree in kinesiology while at Corban.

 

Tanner Boe | 5-8 | Pitcher | Graduate Student | Mountlake Terrace, Wash. | Mountlake Terrace HS | Univ. of Saint Katherine

In his seventh year, Boe brings the most collegiate baseball experience to the Corban roster. In high school, Boe received WAIA player of the week honors as well as Academic State Champions in 2018. He pitched his high school team to a State Runner-up finish in the State tournament. Boe was a three-sport athlete in high school participating in baseball all four years, and a year of both football and tennis.

Boe will be pursuing a master's degree in exercise and fitness management.

 

John Brabb | 6-2 | Pitcher | Freshman | Redmond, Ore. | Redmond HS

Brabb connects with the Warriors for his first year of collegiate baseball. Brabb was a standout three-sport athlete in high school, earning All-League honors in football twice, leading his basketball team to the state tournament three times, and guiding his baseball team to the playoffs.

With intentions to become a crime scene investigator, Brabb will complete a degree in criminal justice.

 

Brenden Davis | 5-8 | Pitcher/Infielder | Freshman | Elmira, Ore. | Elmira HS

One of eleven incoming freshmen, Davis enters the Navy and Gold after an impressive four years dual-sport varsity career. Davis received First Team All-League as an infielder his senior year of baseball. Additionally, Davis was a three-time Second Team All-League goalie for Elmira in his four years of high school soccer.

Davis is joining the nursing program in his first year of collegiate baseball.

 

Drew DeMasi | 5-10 | First Baseman/Utility | Senior | Stone Mountain, Ga. | Parkview HS | Brewton-Parker College

In his final year of eligibility, DeMasi transfers to Corban from Georgia. While in the Southern States Athletic Conference, DeMasi was a two-time SSAC Academic All-Conference recipient. In high school, he helped his program to two Georgia 7A State Championship titles in 2018 and 2019.

DeMasi will be pursuing his masters in exercise and fitness management.

 

Kellen Desbiens | 5-10 | Infielder | Redshirt Freshman | Longview, Wash. | Mark Morris HS | Aquinas College

Transferring after batting .450 and fielding 1.000 at Aquinas College, Desbiens unites with the Navy and Gold with four years of eligibility. In high school, he earned All-League honors as a junior and senior for both baseball and football.

Desbiens plans on completing a degree in business leadership and management during his stay at Corban.

 

Chase Elliott | 5-10 | Outfielder | Junior | Hermiston, Ore. | Hermiston HS | Mt. Hood CC

After a two-year stint in the Northwest Athletic Conference, Elliot enters the Warrior squad with two years of eligibility. Elliot was a tri-sport athlete in high school, playing four years of baseball, football, and basketball. He received honorable mention awards for all three sports, as well as All-League All-Star selection for basketball.

Elliot plans to become a state trooper after completing his criminology degree.

 

Cody Gallego | 6-1 | Third Baseman/Pitcher | Freshman | Eugene, Ore. | North Eugene HS

As a true freshman, Gallego brings versatility and athleticism to the Corban program. During his four years of baseball at North Eugene, Gallego received two years of All-League honorable mention, with a .310 batting average his final year. He also spent his four years playing football and a year of basketball.

Gallego will be studying kinesiology with the hope of becoming a physical therapist.

 

Josephan Gonzalez | 6-6 | Pitcher | Redshirt Junior | Selah, Wash. | Eisenhower HS | Whitworth Univ.

With four years of collegiate baseball experience, Gonzalez joins the Warriors holding two years of eligibility. His junior year of high school, he was awarded Second Team All-League honors as an outfielder with the most RBIs and doubles in the league. He has since received four total dean's list and honor roll awards at Shoreline CC and Ottawa University Arizona.

Gonzalez is joining the counseling psychology program with a specialization in trauma and addictions.

 

Eddie Gould | 5-8 | Pitcher | Redshirt Sophomore | Toutle, Wash. | Toutle Lake HS | Grays Harbor College

Gould registers as one of the sixteen incoming pitchers for the Navy and Gold. In high school, Gould was a member of the Toutle Lake baseball team that finished as State Runner-ups. He also competed in two seasons of basketball alongside his four years of baseball. Although sophomore athletic eligibility, Gould is working toward his graduate's degree and has received four years of president and dean's list honors.

Gould is pursuing his master's in business administration with plans of becoming an agricultural financial adviser.

 

Zach Groza | 5-7 | Outfielder/Pitcher | Freshman | Gresham, Ore. | Sam Barlow HS

Fresh out of high school, Groza enters the Warriors with a diverse resume. As a team captain, Groza was a two-time All-League honorable mention outfielder, with a .300 batting average. Groza played three years of basketball and helped his team go undefeated, 28-0, his junior year. He also ran cross country his last two years of high school where he also served as team captain.

Groza joins the education program at Corban with hopes to teach abroad.

 

Robert Hays Jr. | 6-2 | Pitcher | Junior | Bozeman, Mont. | Sunrise Mountain HS | Miles CC

After two years at Miles, Hays joins the Navy and Gold with promise to make a sizable impact on the 2025 spring season. In high school, Hays became a two-time All-State athlete bringing his team to a Montana American League A State Championship in 2021. He was named MVP in the state tournament as well as Northwest Regionals pitcher of the tournament.

Hays will continue his degree in business administration after being recognized on the dean's list every semester at Miles CC.

 

Rhett Hays | 6-1 | Utility | Redshirt Junior | Bozeman, Mont. | Bozeman HS | Univ. of Jamestown

Proficient as an outfielder, first and third baseman, Hays brings versatility to the Corban baseball program. During his final season of high school baseball, he hit five home runs and received Bozeman Bucks player of the year. Hays spent three seasons at University of Jamestown where he was named a NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete but comes to the Warriors with two years of collegiate eligibility.

With hopes of becoming a financial professional, Hays will complete a business administration degree at Corban.

 

Casey Henderson | 5-10 | Pitcher | Junior | McMinnville, Ore. | McMinnville HS | Arizona Christian Univ.

Transferring within the NAIA, Henderson unites with the Warrior baseball team with two years of collegiate eligibility. In high school, Henderson was a First Team All-League pitcher and led his team to a league championship. He played all four years of baseball for McMinnville and added a year of basketball to his resume.

Henderson will be pursuing a degree in business administration.

 

Jamie Hogarth | 6-1 | Pitcher | Junior | Truckee, Calif. | Tahoe Truckee HS | Napa Valley College

Hogarth connects with the Navy and Gold with a remarkable athletic resume. He received First Team All-Academic honors while at Napa Valley College. In high school, Hogarth was awarded Second Team All-League honors as a utility player and led his team to a state championship two times. Hogarth was a First Team All-League safety and received Second Team All-League and honorable mention accolades for football. While playing four years of baseball and football, he also competed three seasons of basketball.

Hogarth will complete a degree in bio-medical science with plans to become a veterinarian after Corban.

 

Knox Hubbard | 5-11 | Catcher/Third Baseman | Junior | Roseburg, Ore. | Roseburg HS | Clackamas CC

Oregon native, Hubbard enters the Warrior roster after two years at Clackamas. His athleticism is evident in his dual-sport career in high school. In his last high school year of baseball, Hubbard secured a batting average of .300 and has continued that trend his most recent two years of summer league hitting .311 and .303 with Legion Doc Stewart's team. Hubbard was a two-time Second Team All-League catcher in 2021 and 2022. As the most improved player for Roseburg football, Hubbard finished his senior season with 500 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Hubbard will be joining the Hoff School of Business during his time at Corban.

 

Konrad Kisch | 6-1 | Pitcher/Outfielder | Senior | Maple Grove, Minn. | Osseo HS | Bemidji State Univ.

Joining the Warriors for his senior season, Kisch brings an impressive resume to the roster. After four years of high school baseball, he went to Mesabi Range College for two years where he led the team in innings pitched, complete games, saves, and lowest BB/9. Kisch received MCAC pitcher of the week honors and landed in the top three in homeruns, doubles, and batting average for his team at the end of the 2021 season. At Bemidji State, he earned NSIC conference other top performer of the week and student athlete of the week on different occasions. Kisch was named the NSIC Myles Brand Award winner, CSC Academic All-District, and was featured on the dean's list every semester of his undergraduate.

Kisch is pursuing a master's degree in exercise and fitness management with the hopes of becoming a collegiate baseball coach.

 

Jack Kovanen | 6-2 | Pitcher | Redshirt Junior | Wenatchee, Wash. | Wenatchee HS | Univ. of Jamestown

Kovanen enters the Navy and Gold roster with two years of eligibility after spending the season at University of Jamestown. At Wenatchee, he played all four years of baseball and was a member of the swim and dive team his freshman and sophomore years. Kovanen was the baseball team MVP and had a 2.6 ERA.

Kovanen will complete his undergraduate degree in business administration.

 

Quinton Marshall | 6-0 | Pitcher | Freshman | Walton, Ore. | Elmira HS

Marshall comes to Corban with a remarkable high school resume. During his four years of baseball, he earned Second-Team All-League honors as a pitcher with the most strikeouts in the league, 72, and a 3.1 ERA. Marshall was named Defensive Player of the Year and Second-Team All-League for football offensive and defensive line. As a three-year captain for baseball and football, Marshall also played two years of basketball and wrestled his junior year.

With dreams of being a travel nurse, Marshall will join the nursing program at Corban.

 

Levi Martinez | 5-10 | Utility | Freshman | Hemet, Calif. | Calvary Chapel HS

The Repetition in H.E.A.R.T. Coaches award winner at Calvary Chapel, Martinez secured a .333 batting average with four years of high school baseball experience.

Levi plans to study business administration during his freshman year at Corban

 

Tanner Martinez | 5-10 | Pitcher | Junior | Glenns Ferry, Idaho | Glenns Ferry HS | Walla Walla CC

One of the sixteen pitchers Harris is adding to the roster, Martinez brings in a notable high school resume. Leading Glenns Herry to a State Championship Runner-up and two State Championship Semifinalist finishes, Martinez was named player of the year. He was also a First Team All-Conference pitcher and two-time First Team All-Conference Infielder. Martinez played four years of high school baseball, football, and basketball.

Tanner enters the Hoff School of Business to complete his degree in business administration.

 

Zachary Martinez | 6-2 | Pitcher | Freshman | Hemet, Calif. | Calvary Chapel HS

Joining his brother Levi, Zachary Martinez is added to the Warrior roster after playing four years of baseball at Calvary Chapel HS.

As a true freshman, Martinez will be pursuing a business degree during his time at Corban.

 

Logan Morris | 6-1 | First/Third Baseman | Freshman | Hemet, Calif. | Calvary Chapel HS

Traveling far up the Pacific coast, Morris joins Corban for his first year of collegiate baseball. Morris received All-League honors for baseball at Calvary Chapel. He played all four seasons of baseball and was a member of the football team for two years as well.

With dreams of owning a business, Morris will acquire a degree in business leadership and management.

 

Christian Pederson | 6-3 | Pitcher | Redshirt Junior | Mukilteo, Wash. | Kamiak HS | Menlo College

Another NAIA transfer, Pederson connects with the Navy and Gold with two years of eligibility. While at Kamiak, Pederson captured a .111 batting average against with 11 strikeouts. He led the 2021 baseball team to their first winning season in 10 years.

Pederson will fulfill the requirements for a business administration degree while playing baseball for Corban.

 

Joshua Pedronan | 6-0 | Pitcher | Junior | San Jose, Calif. | Santa Teresa HS | De Anza College

Warrior baseball welcomes Pedronan to the roster after two years at De Anza. Pedronan secured an earned run average of 3.71 with 44 strikeouts. He ended up 10th in strikeouts in the Mount Hamilton Division.

The 2023 academic dean's list student-athlete, Pedronan will continue studying criminal justice while at Corban.

 

Riley Pratt | 6-1 | Pitcher | Freshman | Salem, Ore. | Blanchet HS

Staying in his hometown, Pratt joins the Corban roster for his first season at the collegiate level. At Blanchet, he played four years of baseball and basketball and a year of football. Pratt led his team in innings pitched, wins, and strikeouts (54). He also carried a 1.8 earned run average, a 1.100 walks and hits per innings pitched, and a batting average against of .140. Pratt was named First-Team All-League as an outfielder as well as All-league for basketball.

Pratt joins the Hoff School of Business with a major in business administration.

 

Peyton Rickard | 6-1 | Utility/Pitcher | Junior | Kennewick, Wash. | Kamiakin HS | Yakima Valley College

Rickard moves from Washington with potential to make a significant impact on the program. In his senior year, Rickard hit a .400 batting average and received First-Team All-Conference at first base. His success bled into his two years at Yakima Valley College as he earned Second-Team All-Region for infield and utility. He also was a dean's list student-athlete in the winter of 2023.

Rickard intends to purse an applied kinesiology degree while playing baseball at Corban.

 

Chris Shaffer | 6-5 | Pitcher | Senior | Reno, Nev. | Reno HS | Cal State Univ. San Bernardino

Transferring from NCAA DII, Shaffer is anticipated to make a noteworthy impact for the Navy and Gold for his senior season. In high school, he played baseball all four years and added soccer in his junior and senior year.

Shaffer will complete an interdisciplinary degree during his time at Corban.

 

Jaebin Sotelo | 6-0 | Outfielder | Sophomore | Salem, Ore. | West Salem HS | Chemeketa CC

Sotelo, Salem native, enters the Warrior roster after two years of collegiate baseball at Chemeketa. While in high school, he competed in four years of baseball and football, and a year of wrestling.

Sotelo plans to obtain a degree in computer science while playing baseball for Corban.

 

Ethan VanDelinder | 6-0 | Catcher | Graduate Student | Albany, Ore. | South Albany HS | Bemidji State Univ.

VanDelinder returns to Oregon after getting his bachelor's degree and competing in four seasons of NCAA Division II baseball. In the spring of 2024, VanDelinder threw out 30% of would be base stealers and posted a .300 batting average for Bemidji State. He was also named to the 2024 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Academic team. In high school, VanDelinder was an All-Conference Honorable Mention catcher as a junior and hit a .270 batting average over the season. In the Oregon All-Star game his senior year, he hit a .375 batting average.

VanDelinder will acquire a master's in exercise and fitness management with hopes of owning a training facility after Corban.

 

Edward Vasquez | 6-0 | First/Third Baseman | Redshirt Junior | Escondido, Calif. | Escondido HS | Univ. of Saint Katherine

After four years at Saint Katherine, Vasquez joins the Navy and Gold with two years of NAIA eligibility. Vasquez appeared on the academic dean's list as a firebird and displays the optimal student-athlete balance. In high school, he played four years of baseball, three years of basketball, ran cross country for three years, and competed one year on the water polo team.

Vasquez is pursuing a degree in kinesiology to become a physical therapist.

 

Jackson Young | 6-1 | Pitcher | Junior | Salem, Ore. | West Salem HS | Wenatchee Valley College

Returning to his hometown, Young finds his way to the Warrior roster after two years at Wenatchee Valley College. He was named to the dean's list in fall of 2021 and president's list in spring of 2022.

Young will continue to study kinesiology during his time at Corban.
