KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the first of six regular season 2025-26 Men's Wrestling Top 25 Coaches' Polls earlier this morning, where the Corban University Men's Wrestling program slightly slid to the No. 20-overall spot in an exact tie with fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) member Eastern Oregon University following their opening weekend at the Mountie-hosted duals/tournament.

"We understand it's still early in the season and know that as the season progresses, head-to-head matchups will occur and our weights will regulate, which will impact the rankings even more," explained Corban head coach Nolan Harris. "They ultimately serve the purpose of being the criteria for automatic qualifications to the national tournament, so we're looking to do our part to help our conference have as many individuals ranked as possible. Regardless, we give them their due place and don't pay too much attention to specifically where our guys are ranked, because so long as they're ranked, they will continue to earn recognition towards national qualification, and we will do our part by continuing to work hard so that we will be ready to compete at the end of February and into March."
The Warriors kicked off the 2025-26 campaign with a top 25 dual loss to No. 14-ranked University of Providence yet followed up the next day with four weight class champions at the Mountaineer Open. Among the four Corban weight class crowns were senior Blake Runion (141lbs), senior Bo Davis (149lbs), junior Jr Downing (157lbs), and junior Isaiah Twait (184lbs), who are also four of the program's five grapplers receiving votes in the NAIA individual weight class rankings.
Joining the four tourney weight class champs in the national poll is redshirt senior Antonio Garcia at 285lbs, who has not yet made his season debut yet holds the No. 4-overall individual ranking for his weight class. Additionally, Runion, Davis, and Downing all appeared in their new weight class rankings at 23rd, 24th, and 19th, respectively, while Twait maintained his own top four ranking at No. 4 in the same weight class he earned All-American honors last season.
The Navy and Gold will open their busy home schedule in 2025 this upcoming Saturday when they host Southwestern Oregon Community College in a dual scrimmage beginning at 7:30pm. Due to NAIA compliance with scrimmages against junior colleges, the match will not be livestreamed, but attendance to the event will be free of charge.
